Cathay Pacific Website - system issues

Am I the only one having issues with the CX website?

I've tried the UK and NL sites, and neither will proceed through to booking.

On a scale from 1-10, CX IT get's a 2 in my book.

The SIN website isn't working either for booking but at least it's outputting the following error message "We're experiencing technical difficulties"

CXFlyerBoy Jun 2, 2016 8:55 am

Not working on the SIN site as well.

Not working here in YYZ.

It won't even allow entering of "Leaving From" or "Going To" on the main page.

Usually, it always shows the default origin city and the most recent destinations I've searched.

I can enter dates, but without the ability to enter cities, you get this error message
.

G-CIVC Jun 2, 2016 10:19 am

Not working at all - tried the USA, HK and South Africa website. How further can CX IT worsen?

msm2000uk Jun 2, 2016 10:44 am

Glad I wasn't the only one then!

No mention about it on the CX website.

It seemed to work for a few moments earlier, but then crashed after I'd entered all the API info...which was annoying!

UPDATE: "Leaving From" field now shows default YYZ.

Still cannot enter a destination. Nuts.

Mr. Strong Jun 2, 2016 10:51 am

Having issues with CX website as well. Multi-city booking not working 100%.

lol

I was going to volunteer to sit on hold but I get routed to the YVR call centre during daytime hours and I'm not sure they would know what to do.

It is acting up again for me.

I am unable to search for any destination other than the three on "recently searched for."

Even tried to close browser, delete cookies, use different browsers, go to other countries' sites, etc.

Just to let everyone know that CX will upgrade their website by the end of the month.

jacobsleather Jun 3, 2016 4:02 am

I have been unable to do OLCI or manage booking all day.

Singapore_Air Jun 3, 2016 4:38 am

I was unable to use the Manage My Booking feature this morning / afternoon Singapore time.

Something wrong about that story because it says the Website will be offline over the weekend of June 22-23, but those dates are not a weekend this year!

Is it an old story from when they "upgraded" the Website a few years ago?

FlyPointyEnd Jun 6, 2016 1:29 am

Can't seem to access the website for the past 2 hrs...

sxc Jun 6, 2016 1:38 am

And when you can and try to book, the auto lookup in the destination field doesn't seem to work?

Cathay Pacific to upgrade flagship website
Murari Mohan Jha 28 March 2016

"Cathay Pacific Airways will upgrade its flagship website – www.cathaypacific.com – over the weekend of 22 and 23 June. The upgrade is to provide a more advanced and powerful online platform that will enable further upgrades to the airline’s online and mobile services in the near future. It will also give the website a fresh look and feel, with enhanced navigation and an improved site structure.

Significant enhancements have been made to Cathay Pacific’s online and mobile services in recent years, giving passengers the flexibility to manage their journeys at anytime and from anywhere. With the growing demand for online and mobile services, together with significant changes in customer preferences, a more sophisticated technology platform is required to allow the airline to redesign and roll out new services as quickly and efficiently as possible to meet customers’ need."

I've a question about the online booking system too.

I've been looking at a trip January to March 2017 and having pricing problems, the trip in question is CDG-HKG (24/01) - HKG-AKL (29/01) - AKL-HKG (13/03) HKG-CDG (16/03), the online booking system gives 2 prices for these dates (circa €3628 and €3733) when proceeding to select the flights the pricing reverts to €5420 and not the two amounts at the top of the page! I've tried changing the dates around but it makes no difference so why show the €3628 and €3733 prices if you can't select them?

I've also tried the "actual date" route instead of the +- 3 day option and that comes out at over €10k for those dates!!

I haven't tried calling MPC or reservation yet as we haven't firmed up on the dates but does anybody think that that's worth try and might that elicit yet another alternative price?

dannyhk Jun 6, 2016 8:46 am

Cathay Website having problems yet again. Online booking is officially down "for maintenance". MMB doesn't seem to be working either.

sscywong Jun 6, 2016 9:56 am

also m.cathaypacific.com and m.dragonair.com are both taken away... I think these two sites were on the old system therefore when the new interface MMB was down I can still access it using m.CX and m.KA....

But no more......

easyguy Jun 6, 2016 12:43 pm

When I go to CX website to redeem miles, I am getting a blank screen.
Anyone has the same problem ?

BTW, these are the current alerts posted. Otherwise, main page seems to be working, FROM and TO fields default properly
.

percysmith Jun 6, 2016 9:44 pm

OLCI OK

Online redemptions marginally OK

MMB cannot be loaded for accounts or individual itineraries

Mr. Strong Jun 6, 2016 10:16 pm

When trying to book online CX website displays the following message in various languages:

"We're experiencing technical difficulties

Our engineers are working hard to get the site back online. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

To get help with any immediate queries, please call our customer service team on +800 2747 3333.

Members of The Marco Polo Club can get in touch on +852 2747 5500 and Asia Miles on +852 2747 3838.

We aim to have this resolved soon. Thank you for your patience.

The Cathay Pacific team."

The website has had various glitches for at least 5 days if not longer. More Cathay Pathetic.

Engineering Travel Jun 6, 2016 10:50 pm

Its been the on/off in Korea for some days now. Just hope its OK for OLCI tomorrow..

sxc Jun 6, 2016 11:06 pm

When trying to search from the main screen:

Sorry! There is a system exception!
Please check the logs to detail.

SinoBritAsia Jun 6, 2016 11:25 pm

Online bookings back to normal!

dannyhk Jun 7, 2016 1:26 am

Cathay Web site problems now in South China Morning Post:

Technical glitch shuts down Cathay Pacific online bookings for almost 24 hours
Angry customers vent frustration at Hong Kong’s flag carrier

HKGglobaltrotter Jun 7, 2016 1:41 am

The site is still down I think. It took so long to login to MMB then only to find out that 'we are unable to locate your bookings....'

CX website has been a total piece of cr!p for so long now in my opinion. On a regularly basis I encounter issues such as multi-city booking (per many comments above), OLCI, or the simple task of retrieving my existing bookings, etc.

Cathay Pathetic indeed!

Didn't they just "upgrade" the site and turn it into this mess that we have now?

With CX IT incompetence, I wouldn't be surprised if they wiped the server and their domain name in this next update.

It's a replay of the SQ website upgrade a few years ago when they went from a functional website to a disaster. CX seems to be following this trend too. Maybe they hired the SQ IT team, who were rumoured to have been fired after that fiasco...

I wonder how much money CX is losing with online booking unavailable for extended period of time...

If you're really keen on a CX flight you'd call GCC
