Any of you guys waving 'The Queen' goodbye one last time this Saturday? Will probably head to the office on Saturday morning and see it pass by the harbour with Champagne on hand and reminisce my first flight ever which was a CX-747 to LAX...

There was a water canon for CX8747.
Obviously CAD wouldn't have allowed it, but CX should have just made a dozen or so of these harbour flights. Total flying time of 20-30mins. No food, no bottled water for elites, and no blankets. $2k per Y window ticket. $1k per asile / middle seat. $3k for upper deck J. Maybe 70k Asia Miles for F.

I was departing at a gate nearby this morning. CX8747 left from gate 4 and pushed back around 10am. Seemed like a lot of festivities happened - a lot of CX staff, some wearing vintage uniforms.
A lot of people got on the plane....was anyone here invited? I know I certainly wasn't!

My understanding is that it was a staff only flight.
From RTHK:
I really, really hope that means a donation to some good cause, not just asking staff to pay for the over-priced fuel for a 1 hour ride!
From RTHK:
Around 300 airline staff made a donation of HK$747 to ride on the venerable aircraft ... for the last time, the airline said.

TPG had this
"Cathay Pacific’s Farewell 747 Flyover in Hong Kong"
http://thepointsguy.com/2016/10/cath...l-747-flyover/
Includes map of route (link to FR24) and what appears to be a photo taken in-flight from inside the aircraft.
Can that photo be verified as from the final flight?
