I didn't want to start a new 747 thread so.....
I'm in the Amex Centurion Lounge at DFW and I looked out the windows and there she is, a CX 747 cargo.
Sure, none of us will fly it, but she is still a beautiful sight far from home.

I know it's cargo, but as I wrote upthread, I did not want to start a new thread. If the mods do, they can move my posts.
ANC has huge floor-ceiling windows with amazing views and of course during summer, it's daylight at night and thus extra viewing time.
There is a different view from another gate area where I saw a row of 3 large CI cargos. It's fascinating to watch them all come into ANC, change crews etc and then leave.
Anyway, the rainbow and the CX cargo seemed interesting enough to post.

I hear that while Oct 1 will be the last commerical flight, there will be subsequent passenger-carrying flight(s) likely for charity purposes. I dunno if that means there will be auctioning involved for seats.
I am in a wait and see mode on if I should cancel my F booking.

My best memory with B744 was with LH in their upper deck (only 8 seated F cabin)
A few trip with CX in all three class many years back.
Have booked a return to HND in mid September on their nose again.
I guess this will be my last flight with CX B744.
Very much looking forward to enjoy the coming flight.

Looks like I will need to cancel my 1st class award on CX 543 HND-HKG on Sat 24-Sep. I'm announcing this to see if there are any opinions on the best way to cancel and still give another person a chance to snag a seat. Since I flew CX 543 last Mar, I don't feel quite so bad about missing out.
