Got the MPC email last week but when I checked and alas no seats could be booked, at least not on the HND-HKG flight.

Just called MPC for details of last 747 flight. They said the email regarding last 747 flight was only sent to selective members (not all members) and the promotion is only valid for member who received that email. Please correct if it is wrong.

Last checked today, M is still available on both sectors but unable to book with an onward connection to TPE.
In the end I had to book two separate tickets.
If I recall correctly one would be able to get some taxes returned if transiting in HKG under separate tickets?

I can't imagine Cathay without 747-400s I'd love to be on the last flight but I doubt it'll happen. Look forward to seeing pictures from those who take it.

I received this e-mail on May 26 and when I tried to make a booking, only full flexible Y is still 'available'. 15,439 RMB for PVG-HKG-HND in Y is simply insane, even if it's for CX's last 747 flight. It cost more than my upcoming PVG-HKG-SFO-JFK-HKG-PVG in PE
I will forever remember a flight from CGK to HKG onboard CX's 747-300 and from HKG to CGK onboard 747-400. It was during the handover from the UK to PRC. it was also almost at the height of Asian economic crisis. Both flights were empty and we were given two slices of sandwiches and a cup of tea or coffee as meal

As of now 01OCT/CX543 is full in all 4 classes, no seats left. EF shows F0 A0 J2 C0 D0 I0 W0 R0 E0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0 but if you actually try to book a seat in J, there is no availability.
That's pretty impressive, guess plane will be full of enthusiasts!

Until today I had no idea that CX was going to stop using B747 this year. Unintentionally we'll be part of farewell period in 747s life in CX.
I booked trip in J AMS-HKG-DPS for July and August. Until yesterday we were supposed to fly HKG-DPS on B777 regional. Then I found at checkmytrip that the plane had been changed into B747. I called CX immediately and was able to book two upper deck seats in row 83. I'm so excited about this flight, even though it's not particularly long one. Of course, flight in July is not the same as last flight couple of months later, but stil, there'll be something to remember... Unless they change plane back to B777 :-(

Another better two was with CX's 744 to HND on upper deck in 2013... and to TPE with CI's 744 in 2003 (got offered an upper deck J seat with Y service... also my first time to go to the upper deck)

I have a very find memory of CX 744 (makes up for all those endless SFO flights in 744 Y shell seats).
My first ever paid J ticket, at HND, red light at boarding gate and op-up to F (my first time ever in an F cabin). Totally unexpected and completely wow! Ruined me.
It seems that will turn out to be my last CX 744 flight. Not bad!
