I'm waitlisted for Premium Economy Heathrow-HK on 23 December CX238 and CX250. I'm already confirmed for the return flight on 25 Jan 2018. How are the 2 outbound flights looking for the waitlist?

I've been told by MarcoPolo that I'm on a priority waitlist - not sure how priority this is?

Anyone experience not getting their waitlist seat approved close to their flight? There may not be availability to fly if I don't get my outbound seat? What are the options at the moment?
According to EF, POS UK for 23/12:
CX 238: J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 E2 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q7 O0
CX 250: F1 A0 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 E4 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q0 O0

Loading is not bad for now, but CX may be holding on until the last moment as that is peak holiday season. Good luck!

Thanks! Looks decent at the moment Although does CX offer discounted upgrade offers to economy passengers 48 hours before departure, like other carriers such as Emirates? It's been a new strategy as airlines try to increase their profit margins. Wondering if CX has applied this as well? And if so, do they have priority to upgrade to PE over the waitlist passengers?

They have been doing that all along. You can have a much better chance of getting seats released if you are a high-tier MPC member, but still difficult to say. Years ago, they did release "revenue seats" to awards for CX DMs on many routes almost instantly, but that hasn't been the case for the past 5-6 years. I guess $$$ still comes first.

May have a chance...next time please provide origin and destination, too, so we don't have to first look that up.

Does not look good but as another poster pointed out my POS might not be accurate in all scenarios.

Excuse my ignorance, but what should I be looking for as an indicator for availability/upgrade chances?

Does this "W6 R4 E1" mean that there are 11 (out of 28) PY seats open at this stage?

No, 6 seats open PE only

Looking at the seat map I see 9 empty seats and 40 or so blocked seats <-- blocked seats are the ones that can go either way.

Business is chock-block full - 2 empty, 4 blocked (<-- this suggests blocked seats are partially empty).

You need CX to sell around 20 more Y seats before they need to op up people from Y. And for PE to not sell any more of the 6.

4 days to go till my flight and no confirmation yet. I'm waitlisted (as Silver MPC) for Premium Economy Heathrow-HK on 3 flights: 22 December CX238 and CX250 and 23 December CX238. I'm already confirmed for the return flight on 25 Jan 2018. Pretty last minute to release redemption seats... Can anyone check and see how the 3 outbound flights are looking for the waitlist please?

Only 1!! They haven't allocated me a seat...I called Marco Polo last week and they said since I'm a redemption passenger on premium economy, the other available seats are for revenue passengers.

I've been on the waiting list for nearly 6 months, and I got confirmed for the return months ago and I'm still without the outbound...

How many PE seats are available allocated to Award passengers Percysmith?

Why don't you call to grab the seat now?

I did call, several times. They are not allocating PE seats...yet. As mentioned, they want to fill their revenue seats first. I asked if they could tell me when they would start allocating the reward seats - they said the system doesn't tell them. I've called several times over the last few months - same answer. If there are lots of seats available it's just a matter of hours/days before they call to confirm my seat, but you need to be a cool customer to wait till the last minute.
