Yvr uncle wanted to rebook a 4/3 CX889 YVR-HKG F redemption seat into 8-10/3

I've been waitlisting for him since Christmas, on one of those waitlists that has no end date (because it is rebooking)

On 3/3 there was 3F on 9/3, 1F on other days, no redemption available and waitlist not cleared

On 7/3 there was 1F on 9/3 and 2F on 10/3. Still no redemption seat. Uncle told me to reissue him in J on 9/3

on 8/3 4am yvr time there was 1 F redemption seat on 9/3. But it was too late for uncle - he says his bags are packed and won't change his plans.

Would someone be so kind to help me look at award availability for these flights:
3/17/18 - CX845
3/17/18 - CX899
3/17/18 - CX841
3/16/18 - CX831

I would really appreciate it.

I am waitlisted on 2 3/17/18 flights, but I am afraid they will not clear. I would like to know the availability so, I know whether or not I will have to look at all other hub city's flights on that day (ORD,BOS,IAD,YYZ).

On another note, does anyone else find that CX cant book JAL awards at all? When I first booked this flight, I was trying to get NYC-TYO and BA showed availability, but CX said they couldnt see any seats. Same thing happened when I called today for 3/16/18 BOS-TYO, BA shows 3 seats, CX sees none. I am starting to think they cant book JAL at all.

Don't know which class you are looking for, but below is the availability. As of two years ago, I was able to book JAL fine if I can see availability via BA.com. Now JAL has switched to Amadeus, I would have thought that it would be even easier.

Next time when you ask, please specify the origin and destination of these flights. I happen to have taken all of them so I know, but otherwise I would have to first start looking at where the flights are going from / to before I can look up availabilities.

Wow! Thank you so much! Yeah, I shouldve been more specific for Origin and Destination and seat class. Total brain fart there.

Anyways, I really appreciate your response. I can now see all the flights I needed. You rock!

Question, in the instances where it says CL or FL that means that F class and C class are full, right? I.E. a number would represent the number of seats available L means closed. E.G. in this instance:

2 CX 845 FL AL J4 CL/JFK HKG 0125 0510‡1 0/77W 15:45
DL IL W5 R2 E2 Y7 B6 H5 K3 M1 LL VL SL NL OL

4 J class fares are open but 0 for C

Regarding JAL, IDK I have never had a Asia Miles representative say they see award availability.

I have made 2 redemption bookings and all are on waitlist, would someone please help to advise the loading and see if my chance is high?
If not, I may have to make some alternative and I don't know if my MPC status will help for award redemption, I am a MPC GO.

If more seats would open up on this flight (already got 1x J seat and waitlisting another), by when would that typically happen? A few days before departure?

I am looking at HKG-SIN in Business class on the 29th May.
Seems like there's no direct flight availability that day, only able to route via BKK.
Given the high frequency of flights that served this route, is this usual? Though i understand it's a public holiday over in Singapore.

Not surprising. CNY 2018, with BKK>SIN in terms of demand, only HKK-BKK available was HKG-SIN-BKK

thanks but normally when will they release the seat and does my status in MPC help?

i already got one hkg to bkk confirm weeks ago and still waiting for the bkk to hkg (the outbound and inbound loading seems the same) and still have to book on some flight in between... but it's quite uncertain now .. just hope I can get it and plan my trip further

Gold no. Gold is "front of the queue for waitlist" - what MPO claims is true .
But no seats are fed into the queue before (especially for public holidays like 22/5) the T-4 deadline expires and then let it be a free for all (so you compete with people with BA miles, AA miles, AS miles, CA Pheonixmiles and others)).

Your need to plan your holiday is no concern of CX. They already have your miles. In fact, they'd hope you'd start looking at AM first, get desperate, and then go buy CX tickets for $$$ without checking out competitors or leaving things too late.

To beat their redemption ticket racket you need to be as flexible as YVR uncle in post #631 above (it's a commute for him, he's self employed and has houses on both ends). But CX is racking up the constipation level so high these days that even he's getting beaten by CX.

Gold is of priority within the framework of CX generally releasing seats, but the ability to 'poach' a seat for sale into award inventory is a DM (unpublished) benefit only.

Hi all,

I'm new to Asia Miles as I've been previously been using AAdvantage miles to fly CX get to China. Now I plan to use Asia Miles.
I've searched around but haven't been able to get a direct answer to my inquires for award wait listing using Asia Miles.
I'm planning a trip to Xiamen from SFO in November for my son and I. I see award availability for 11/13, but ideally I'd like to go on 11/10,11, or 12.

Questions...
Can I book and confirm the 11/13 seats and still wait-list my three preferred days?
Each day there are two to three flights from SFO, can I waitlist multiple days and multiple flights? I was told by Asia Miles customer service that only one waitlist was possible. This didn't sound right to me.
Assuming this is all possible, I would have to rebook by calling AsiaMiles and paying $40 per flight sector, $40 fee x 2 passengers x 2 segments per passenger = $160, is this correct?

Any additional guidance is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help...
