If i have 1 out of 2 flights confirmed, is it there a higher chance they will clear the last flight on waitlist?

Needs to be ticketed by May20, Flight is late July?

No

On 20 May if the second flight is still unconfirmed you need to ticket the first flight first at one-way rate. When the second flight is confirmed you can ticket the second flight at one-way rate and apply for a refund the miles difference between two one-way and one round-trip

My itin is PER-HKG // HKG - LHR

PER-HKG is confirmed. HKG - LHR i have waitlisted in both J n F.

Currently 2F seats have opened on Priority 1 seats.

How does this Standard / Priority seats work? Im assuming if no one takes P1 soon itll be opened up to the standard waitlist?

No one knows. They can sell it or reserve it for op-up if J is selling well... So... Good luck

BTW companion award has priority over upgrade / direct redemption so if someone is waitlisting a companion seat in F the seat will go to him/her

Can someone please check for me CX 705 on 12/8? I see 1 seat available on PE but I need 2. Shall I ticket 1 first and wait for the 2nd?

BAEC? You might as well. Very little cancellation cost if you're wrong.

12/8 CX705 PE wide open. Only 4 seats sold from seat map.

Hi,

I waitlisted on 10/6 CX734/CX271 SIN/HKG/AMS and 23/6 CX270/CX759 AMS/HKG/SIN J Class (roundtrip) Can anyone advise my chances of getting the ticket cleared by end May?

Does waitlisting SIN/HKG/AMS one way increase my chances than booking it R/T?

Thank you

Low. You want your seat way too early. CX last minute really means last minute. And you're too close to school season for CX to be kind either way.

No. I cleared the outbound of a round trip today. Inbound was already available when I started waiting.

Thank you Percy for your advice. I can only keep my fingers crossed and hope for the waitlist to clear. It would be too late to get economy seats at affordable prices last minute if the waitlist doesn't clear.

Could anyone advise the seat availability on CX271/11Jun and CX293/11Jun with Expertflyer?

Thank you for your help

270: I9 E9 L9 V0
293: I9 E9 V9 S0

It's not that business or premium economy seats are selling well
But CX seems to think it can sell economy seats, for which it can cannibalise PE and J seats for

Well you need some luck. Actually I reckon you'll get better luck with inbound than outbound.

What if only 1 leg clears on waitlist?

For CX awards awards a round-trip award is less AMs than a one-way award (on a per leg basis). I tried to search and came up empty as I am sure this has been asked before, but if only one leg clears on an upgrade award am I charged at the one way AM redemption rate or 1/2 the round-trip rate. I assume it will be the one-way rate, but I wanted to confirm.

One way rate is charged if you only fly one way....allowing you to "book" a round trip (no doubt always choosing a fully booked return flight) and only paying half for one way would be the biggest loophole running since offshore banking was invented.

If the return sector ultimately clears, you will be charged for 2 one ways....but you can claim back the difference. Asia Miles will refund you the amount of miles between the round trip and two one ways. So you don't get screwed if they clear at different times.

You may if you do not have enough AM for two one-ways in your account. However, you may get some miles after flying the first one-way. So the situation is not very bad.

If you book it against the same PNR of the outbound, yes

Must be all CX/KA. I was denied refunding against QF-QF booked this way.

Provided the other leg clears, or there is a plan B for the other one-way (Avios/LCC)
