I applied the Fubon elite platinum; got 10000AM by spending $10000 in first 2 months.

Elite still subject to 30 June 2014 extension.

(The CS I talked to told me to come back on 20 June for a decision, I think he's gonna take time off from 20-30 June...)

I just called Fubon and the CS told me that the Bank hasn't made any decision whether they are renewing Asia Miles redemption after June 30. He suggested that I call back next week to check whether renewal of Asia Miles redemption is announced by late June.

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of applying for the Citibank Prestige. I already have a Citibank Rewards card (for my supermarket/bills).

Does that mean, if I apply for the Prestige, I'm not eligible for the AM bonus offer at the beginning? And if that's the case, is it still worthwhile for me to apply for the Prestige, or should I cancel the Rewards card and then wait a year?

I guess I'll go for the DBS MC if not. Thanks!

ebayhtl: you're eligible for the 30,000 AM for 2,500 annual fee + 10,000 AM for $20,000 spending part of the Prestige welcome offer even if you have Rewards already.

You are not eligible for current the Anantara 2-night stay promotion however.

Thanks percysmith. So do you think the Prestige is worth getting? I'll probably get rid of the DBS Black Amex if so.

Also, separately, I'm quite confused about Octopus AAVS and whether you can get points - some cards allow this and some cards don't right?

I have Citibank Rewards, DBS Black, AMEX Platinum and CCB Eye at the moment (all thanks to the wiki at the front, TBH, except for the Platinum which I have just for the Maxim offers) - do any of these cards allow for points with AAVS? I would prefer not to get too many cards!

Thanks! I've been stalking this thread for a while, it has been v informative.

Prestige - yes. Pretty good welcome offer even without the Anantara, I don't mind buying AM at $0.0833 (annual fee) (well there are other stuff like concierge services), and I double ate the $20,000 for $10,000 welcome offer plus ("up to") $2/mile overseas earn in the Maldives (thankfully the transaction posted as USD)

Prestige points (not direct AM earns like welcome offer or $2/mile) can be used for all of Citi's 11 programs http://www.hongkongcard.com/forum/fo...?id=11414&p=13 #128, which gives me more options than AM (I'll probably go for Avios).

I never churn the Black for the same reason I never churn my BoC - their welcome offers are too much of a joke. Besides I need an Amex card with some sort of overseas earn in case I encounter non-avoidable DCC at some fxcked merchant.

Citi Rewards - $15/mile
DBS Black - $12/mile
Amex Platinum - can you AAVS?
CCB eye - $15/mile

If you get the Prestige, stick the AAVS with it for $6/mile (again, the points can be converted for 11 programs' miles). Only disadvantage is $250 refill limit (no $500)

And if you don't renew Prestige next year (e.g. you decide to churn all Citi) then you have to move your AAVS again for $20.

Wow, thanks percysmith. I'm sure others have said it - you're basically the oracle of credit card points schemes in HK.

O' mighty oracle, might you know if supplemental cards for HSBC need to be registered for the RC scheme again (i.e. you can have the main card be 6x dining but the supplemental be 6x travel) or do you just registered it once for the primary and then the supplemental automatically does whatever is registered for the primary?

Kawaii - shouldn't require re-registration in theory.

I enrolled my mum as an 2012-13 Overseas 6X when she was my sub at first, although due to 800RC welcome offer last July she applied to be a principal in her own right. She received a renewal letter as an 2014-15 Overseas 6X last year but I can't tell whether she was renewed as my sub or as a principal (or whether it doesn't matter).
