Transferred 40k (plus 8k bonus) to AF Flying Blue on Wednesday and its was instant.

Transferred an additional 500k (+100k bonus) to AF Flying Blue later in the afternoon the same day and nothing has posted yet. I tried calling Capital One over the weekend and no dice as the team only works M-F. I called back today as there were still no points after 5 days. They have created a support ticket and advised that it may take 10-12 days to receive a response. This is all very annoying and a definite weak point for Capitol One.

I will update as I get more info.

there are two red flags in this transfer. Either could have flagged the system. One is just doing two transfers in the same day. That tends to flag the system. ESP if one is smaller than the other by a significant amount. The second is the amount of miles. 500,000 miles is almost always gonna flag the system. I have never transferred more than 180k miles in a day without a 3-6 day delay. Please keep us posted so we have another DP regarding transfer delays.

There is sadly nothing you can do to speed this up. You can place a flight on hold for 3-5 days if you call while you wait for the miles to post. I have had this happen more times than I can count.

UPDATE:

Tonight I finally received the confirmation email from cap 1 and the miles posted to AF.

A total of 7.5 days lapsed between the transfer being initiated and the miles being available for use.

This is totally unacceptable. Not a good look Capitol one.

I agree it is ungodly annoying. It can happen with any of the CC companies. Seems to happen a little more with C1 than chase though, and with AMEX I rarely hear of issues. I have complained vehemently to them every time it happens to me, and at this point if I have a large transfer, TBH, I just assume it's gonna be delayed 3-7 days.

Capital One Points Transfer Delay to Flying Blue
I transferred 515K C1 points on September 28th and the points are still in limbo. It's been 10 days total (7 business days). Every time I've called C1 every rep has been so nice but each has given me a different response and are befuddled about the issue. After 5 business days the rep opened a case/ticket but no one has reached out since then. I've double checked the names on both accounts are the same. I only did one transfer so no double transfer issues. It was my first ever points transfer but every time I've called C1 they say there isn't a fraud audit and that the transfer went through but I haven't gotten a confirmation email. Any advice for next steps would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime I guess I just keep waiting. Will update when I have news.

UPDATE: So after two weeks of calling...Capital One and/or Flying Blue cancelled my points redemption on Sunday October 13th without even sending me an email. I've lost out on over 100,000 Flying Blue points from the September Capital One promotion. Has anything like this happened to anyone else? I guess I just try again with a new flight if there even is one left. Just beyond frustrated with this situation.

Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but I've been getting a "something went wrong with your recent transfer to Etihad Guest" error when trying to transfer CO to Etihad. Called both CO and Etihad but of course they blame the other, so not really sure what to do other than wait and pray.

Have you redeemed Flying Blue points for passengers other than yourself who were not travelling with you?

No I haven't. I didn't have a Flying Blue account before the transfer. It was actually my first points transfer ever. I think the issue might have been I opened the Flying Blue account the same day as the Capital One transfer. So I'm hoping if I do it again there won't be anymore problems. Though bummed to miss out on the promotional points.

Mine transfer to Aeroplan was 30 minutes
Quote: Update, talked to capital one fraud to be sure and they claim all is clear on their end. Called Aeroplan this morning and they said chase is instant, capital one is 24hrs to 36hrs. Worst case aeroplan said call capital one after 24hrs & have their designated contact person reach out to aeroplan to investigate. Basically dont fall for those bloggers saying it is instant, may be it was back then or for them.

Came out of the wood work to say, transferred 400k points and has been 3 hours, called capital one and still nothing! Should have went with chase.
BUT i had the cant verify you cell number with your carrier a few weeks earlier. I never did their nonsense Id verification selfie and govt ID,

did you lose an award that you wanted to book.
i unserstand That aeroplan will let you hold an award?
is these true?
but even then i would Have to imagine that its for air Canada metal only.
are partner awards on request and not ticketed instantaniously?

Currently undergoing the same transfer issues as all above have stated. Initiated transfer of 450K points from C1 to AF FB on March 1 2025 (Saturday) and still waiting as of March 5. Only aspect that may be causing delay is that the AF had to be created new because the prior account was deleted (probably due to 2 years of inactivity). Called C1, but same response about 15 days and then can open a case. Luckily, the flights desired still have 8 and 9 seats respectively. Have made decision to no longer use C1 cards with this poor level of service for point transfers.

Yep. With C1 large transfers are hit or miss if they trigger a fraud alert and there is no way to speed it up. Ive lost many flights due to transfer times as not all airlines allow holds and some the hold expired and the csr wouldnt let me extend it.
