Or people who go to sales meetings or other work for non-essential businesses, but declare themselves essential to their employer. Which apparently is all you gotta do.

I have no issues with truckers, or the general supply chain being exempt.

Yup, scarier Covid numbers in USA and the seasonal return of Covid to Canada seems certain to mean that Canadian snowbirds will be inconvenienced. I'd look for border normality in spring, since by that time there should be vaccinations and, besides, coronaviruses don't have third waves so we should be pretty good anyway.

There may be vaccinations elsewhere but not necessarily in Canada by the spring. Meanwhile, snowbirds can go to the U.S. providing they fly.

And vaccinations are a first step in stopping the spread, but no golden bullet 'I got vaccinated, I'm good to go.'

What concerns me is the "...outbreak is under control around the world" part. Around the world? How long might that take?

Exclamation

As I believe this thread has ceased serving its purpose and wandered a little far afield into wider political and medical matters, I'll bring closure and wish everyone a safe and healthy return to travel one day soon.
