Hi PETER01 - it's in September. I tried a few other EU places (FRA, CDG) but its a bit of a bugger to get anywhere else in the EU when your local airport is as underdeveloped as ABZ! AMS seemed to be cheapest when I priced the three of them out.

I know, it's unbelievable. Back in the 70s the local authorities never thought the oil industry would amount to anything and don't appear to have revisited the conclusion very often.

I did have a look yesterday and the equivalent fares ex US are in the region of $11K. Hardly a bargain.

Can get LCY-JFK on the outbound, but not inbound it seems (well, unless I want to pay over £2,000 more...)

Well it's now £1200 cheaper for the open-jaw trip I wanted to make in August to Vancouver and LAX. And yet still £200 more expensive than if I started in Amsterdam. Madness.

I've been looking at some CE fares and they're exactly the same as before.
Could do with a few more JER and AMS fare of £65 like back in Nov/Dec rather than the usual £130 e/w.

APD would make up a chunk of the £200, and BA is competing with KLM out of AMS.
