My ratings for the following pubs you mentioned:

The Cambridge, Young Street ^^ layout is bit strange and not very inviting
Dome, George Street ^^^ VERY VERY GRAND! nothing against it except some of the prices, although you get free salted nuts
Cumberland, Cumberland Street ^^ bit of a walk from princes sreet

I'd also like to suggest:

80 Queens Street (Guess the address )
Alabach (Corner of the High Street and Cockburn street)
The bar at Oloroso (Castle Street) The Terrace is fantastic!!!
99 Hanover Street (Guess the address ) a friend owns that I can probably negotiate some kind of late opening arrangement

Well I'm all booked in now, although I'm going the long way around to EDI.

3 May <FR> LPL-PMI :: 8 nights in Megamuff
11 May <BD> PMI-LHR :: 1 night @ The Hoxton - £1 ^
12 May <BD> LHR-EDI :: 2 nights in Edinburgh
14 May <BD> EDI-MAN

What have I let myself in for?

Looks like you're in good company G-BOAC on the BD58, which was the cheapest at 29 squid

We'll have no trouble identifying you anyway. You'll be the bloke who's passed out in the corner after his second drink...

I suppose that'll be in the Diamond Club Lounge at LHR will it on Saturday afternoon aswell . Mmmmm, a fridge full of Boddingtons awaits ^

I'll be honest, I cannot drink when its daylight. One pint in the afternoon and it sends me to sleep! You won't stop me yawning. I have no troubles come 8 o'clock mind

Just make sure it's dark wherever we're going, although on second thoughts, you'd better not

Airbusboy and myself are on the BA2938 on the 12th at 12:15 from LGW returning on the 13th on BA2939 at 14:15. Very good flight times. ^

So we are both all set.

Traverse Bar Café, Cambridge Street
JamBar, Queen Street
The Cambridge, Young Street
Dome, George Street
Dragonfly, Westport
Cumberland, Cumberland Street

We had high hopes of getting the Scottish Malt Whisky Society for the evening but alas two pesky parties beat us to it.
I have never heard of the Dragonfly, but the others are all good ideas. Two points -

Instead of the basement cafe at the Traverse, how about Blue, on the first floor? I've been at a do there that had the tables opposite the bar cordoned off.

Also, at the Dome - can that bar off to the side of the entrance be reserved?

Nice bit of lateral thinking to come up with the Cumby, the beer garden might be good at that time of year ^

Is 80 Queen St the old Mum and Drunkey? I used to work across the street from there and was amazed to find a pub that closed on a Saturday evening!

Oloroso has private dining but it's limited to less than 20.
