Long haul in-flight catering 2024 | First

Please find this thread as a place for us all to share some details about the in-flight food and beverages served in the BA First Class Cabin. As the posts populate over time, it will give us an idea of what food we can expect to receive on our upcoming flights. This thread supercedes the previous 2023 edition of the Long-Haul In-flight catering thread which is posted in the link below.

Long haul in-flight catering 2023 | First

As this will build into a popular resource, can I please ask that you do not quote any photos in any reply posts you make for easier reading.

Sorry for lack of food photos - but a quick run down:

1) Ostrich Carpaccio - not great, too much going on, on the plate
2 ) Tomato Tartin - fantastic!
3) Lamb - fantastic, full of flavour and moist and potato gratin was best I’ve had in BA F!
4) Cheese plate also fantastic - lots of flavour and cheeses I like!
5) Awaiting dessert - but so far it has been a very good meal!

Wines
1) Pouilly Fuisee - nice but not cold enough
2) Chateau Vieux - delicious
3) Undurraga Cab Sauvignon - delicious

A very good menu overall, although I had hoped for a few SA wines on the menu, but I guess they stock them out of Ldn.

Does anybody have a menu for BA107, LHR - DXB? I checked a fair few pages of the 2023 thread and couldn't see anything. I'm curious what the light meal will be prior to landing at, what will be, around 10:30pm local time.

We’re kicking off the year with a range of new additions to our onboard experience. This month, customers will be able to enjoy:
  • Brand new menus on all long-haul flights from London Heathrow, with new dishes available across all cabins.
  • New wines introduced in Club World and First from the Rioja region in Spain, as part of our ongoing destination focus.
  • Refreshed single malts in First and Club World, as well as the re-introduction of Fever-Tree mixers on all long-haul flights in our premium cabins.
  • Our new English Sparkling Wine offering in Club World, with Wiston Brut NV served from January – March.
  • New vegan snacks on offer in the mid-flight tuck box on long-haul flights from January 6.
  • Refreshed in-flight entertainment this January, including new movies, boxsets and podcasts.

Can anyone help post menus for what is likely to be served on the BA175 0935 LHR-JFK in First? We are flying Feb but there's been a lack of menus posted lately with morning flights ex-LHR to the East Coast. It'll be out first First so just want to see what sort of offering we might expect. Thanks in advance 😁

Ooo, Fever-Tree back. Nice.

Don't mind Schweppes at all; I buy it myself. But I liked that they had a fancier one than the one I normally get, which seems to have disappeared of late. Possibly they stopped making it.

I can help to the extent that BA175 should serve lunch followed by afternoon tea as a second meal so looking at some of the ex LHR East Coast menus in the 2023 thread will give you an idea. If you email You First at the start of Feb they should be able to let you have the menu for your precise flight.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help re what meals we can expect on BA283 (LHR - LAX) in First, departing Heathrow at 10.10am?

Hoping that despite the morning departure it's lunch for the main meal rather than breakfast... And then presumably afternoon tea or a light meal?

First flight in First, so quite excited despite what everyone says about it not being a massive step up from CW!

Will be a full “main” lunch service, and then a hot dinner service (not afternoon tea ) but remember, you can dine on demand so have in the order you require
