Any chance BA will be flexible with proactive ticket changes? I'd like to push up my flight for non-funeral related reasons.

That's correct.

Surely they won't want much noise during the funeral, opposed to simply when the coffin is being taken to its final resting place (after the funeral).

The final part of the day's proceedings is a committal services and internment at Windsor in the early evening, I seem to recall around 7pm.

A 40% reduction is a huge figure for a very large chunk of the day!
That will cause a pretty big mess on the day itself and the day's around it for scheduling!

Others will most likely know the approximate number of movements one could ordinarily expect between the quoted hours ; but with a 40% reduction imposed, I would think very significant cancellations / delays / general disruption are almost inevitable (?)
I myself have no cause to be flying on the 19th, but many obviously will, and ideally they will get a degree of advance notice as to potential effect on their specific flight …… either to adjust their plans if possible, or to at least ‘be prepared’.

The distinction between arriving and departing isn't a big one on BA, given it's the hub and staff base, so it's effectively 40% all day.

Usually if a decision like this is made, BA will push through the cancellations this evening and/or tomorrow. I'd expect the shorthaul services to once again be the main casualities.

I have a feeling they some have gone / going through already: LHR EDI has 3 older cancellations for Sunday and Tuesday, but 7 on Monday 19th, mainly the morning services. FRA has 3 cancelled out of 5. Whereas DUS only has 1 late cancelled at the moment, and 4 earlies still going, so that may be the one to watch to see how far BA have got with this.

I had a look and there are quite a few BA flights during the morning.as the main flight does not leave until late afternoon (hopefully) most changes won’t be an issue

OK, so here is the situation at 12:45 BST.

Thursday - benchmark
BA operated scheduled services departing LHR = 343
The number above cancelled = 70
Flights operating = 273

[We can assume most of these cancellations came from HAL's capacity restrictions dating back to early summer and thus done well in advance]

Monday 19 September
Currently exactly the same figures as Thursday, 70 cancellations out of 343, 273 operating.

Conclusion: No additional cancellations made yet!

Aer Lingus have cancelled 4 rtn flights from LHR on the 19th if that is any indicator of what might happen with BA.

"As the state funeral of the Queen is taking place on Monday 19th September, we have had to make some changes to our London Heathrow operation, resulting in the cancellation of four return flights. The following return flights due to operate on Monday 19 September are now cancelled:

EI160 / EI165 – Dublin – London Heathrow - Dublin
EI168 / EI169 – Dublin – London Heathrow - Dublin
EI176 / EI177 – Dublin – London Heathrow - Dublin
EI932 / EI935 – Belfast City – London Heathrow – Belfast City

It's going to be a massive problem if winds are westerly and much less of an issue if they are easterly. Thats probably why they are holding fire.

What impact, if any, will the 2 minutes of national silence at noon have?

Earlier post talks about a 2+ hour delay as the 'silence' means no aircraft movements - no T-Os, landings but above all, taxiing. Push-backs stop long before the 'silence' and all inbounds stop long enough in advance to get to gates before it begins, too.
