2 times the size, AFAIK.

Currently there is some chatter about what the access rules to the premium lounge will be during the main lounge refurb. We shall see.

I'm just back from my trip, and managed to use the Finnair lounge on Saturday early morning (ca. 6:30am). I wouldn't have access to the Premium one on account of being only Silver and all. For now ;-)

The back to back worked a treat, but to be honest, that's close to 7 hours on a plane with just a couple of bus rides and a 10-minute cigarette break in the terminal. I don't think I'd do it again. As suggested up-thread, I might try to visit Helsinki next time.

Trip report coming up, I have three posts worth of notes and pictures (and silly puns and jokes).

I'm on tonight's BA798 if anyone else is going. Not on TP run though so down at the back. Hopefully it doesn't get cancelled with bunch of other flights

In AA for a change, like haven. Granted food is not up to CX, but only 3 people here besides me, including one very well behaved kid.

Another datapoint, in BA799 today, unceremoniously but politley turned away from AY non Schengen lounge and asked to see BAEC card at almost@home. Fortunately electronic card was accepted.

I never thought I’d be doing this...

Hi
Thanks to some surprise trips and “unexpected” tier credits I find myself close to getting gold back but with little time to spare. I found a free weekend and got some good pricing on the schedule below. With Amex travel cash back I am close to £1/TP - I’m going for it. It looks punishing but compared to what some FTers do I’m sure I’ll survive.

Thanks to the posts in this forum I am fairly happy about b2b turnaround at HEL (bus to plane or not) but would welcome any guidance as to where to head to get back to the departure area (I am not fussed about visiting the lounge unless I feel very happy on time). I would welcome guidance - any trip reports out there?

Thanks!
Odiy

Also I have not enough posts to edit the wiki. If someone could please add my plans above...

When you get off the bus (BA794/799 will be bussed) you are already in departure area. You don't have to go through immigration and security. Just look for the gate on the board, most likely 50x something (opposite of AY lounge).

‘Thanks KARFA. Map is v useful. Saturday 23rd looks like a busy morning with the gib do too. Probably why the Helsinki flights are cheaper
Hopefully a moderator will add my details to the wiki. As at the moment I’m a billy No-mates on most flights

Great feedback from many as usual. As an infrequent business funded flyer; the information I get here from you all is much appreciated and will keep my status live.
Cheers to you all!

I see that there has been an aircraft change on the BA799 for Sunday 10th March and now there are only 3 rows of CE, my wife and I were already in row 5 and now we can't choose a seat.
I checked for another flight for CE space and BA is showning no availability that day, though Finnair has plenty.
Any ideas on what will happen from here?
thanks!

All 12 seats are occupied. Rows 4-7 are blocked in ET currently. I suspect the curtain will move backwards shortly and rows 4+ will become available.
