Further details to follow.

Accommodation

GIB does not appear to be blessed with accommodation options. Expedia, for example, currently only lists 5 properties available for the Saturday evening.

The hotel of choice is the new Holiday Inn Express (see above) which has only just opened. This is located close to the airport and you can walk there direct. The address is: 21-23 Devil's Tower Road , Gibraltar, GX11 1AA
There are a limited of room types including one bed (with or without sofa bed) and twin rooms. There are no suites, so those who like a bit of luxury then the HIX is not for you.

Prices at the moment are around 73 for the Saturday night, although a flexible rate is just over 80. All rates include breakfast.

The following is taken from the hotel website.

EAT & DRINK
Start the day with fresh pastries, eggs and bacon and coffee, as part of the inclusive Express Start Breakfast. Then during the day, you can meet friends, grab a snack or wind down after work with a beer in the all-day Express Cafe and Bar.
  • Full Breakfast Included
  • Breakfast Buffet Included
  • Continental Breakfast Included
  • Champagne Bar
  • Off-site Restaurant Delivery Available
  • Room Service Available from 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
HOTEL RESTAURANTS

Activities
The flight times allow some time for exploring what GIB has to offer even if arriving late on the Saturday and departing on the first flight on the Sunday. I am sure some will enjoy a trip up the rock to see the monkeys at some point, whilst those plane spotters in our ranks may enjoy looking down on the airport to catch sight of the BA flights arriving/departing.

Please provide information on any possible activities in the thread and I will collate them here, or add them to the wiki. Some people may like the idea of doing a planned group activity on the Sunday morning. Let me know if this is something that appeals, or if you would all rather do your own thing, or a mixture of the two.

It's a little too soon to start making arrangements for the evening, but essentially we are looking at hitting a few bars and/or a restaurant. Suggestions welcome. But again, this is not an organised trip and we are all free to do as we please.

Any special event in GIB that day? If not, were any SH+ destination considered?

Haven't looked into March 2019 yet, made some reservations for January earlier today.
Kudos to the trio originating this. ^

So far, I'm positive to the idea, but not yet ready for the 'possible'. Will check against other commitments and return later

No reason other than flights are available for less than 70 return and KARFA wants to play with the monkeys.

Whats the consensus with you guys? you doing Sat out and Sunday back? I'd be flying GLA - LHR - GIB in Y as CE is pointless on such a short leg

Everybody I know who has booked (about 10 so far) is Saturday out Sunday return. Although different flight times.

I'm a maybe... I usually end up on that side of the world that week for a conference, but haven't made my booking yet as it's still ten months away. Though if row 1 is taken on all of the flights I might skip.
