The other problem is BAs insistence on selling every seat in CE whilst leaving many empty seats in ET / not seat shifting the front ET rows to expand CE. In my experience youre more likely to have an empty seat next to you in ET than CE these days from LCY.

Three micro pieces of chicken, a sliver of slaw (is this on every rotation?) and a small chocolate bar. Describing this as anything more than a snack is just not serious. I feel sorry for the crew having to serve this on flights of up to three hours

P.S., there was plenty of bread but I declined.
I really hope youve submitted a complaint, so they understand how passengers are feeling

I'm waiting for my next flight from LCY, as that will then entitle me to inform the tightwad beancounters at BA exactly where they can put their chocolonely bar. The bar might not be lonely as my wife will be telling them to put hers up the same orifice.

LCY-IBZ 1340 departure was either this (Goats cheese and slaw) or a Euro Traveller Cheese and Ham sandwich! I do not understand what went wrong here but surely there was a missing choice, a missing starter!? and missing bread and butter for a Band 3 lunch??

Complained and got some very generous e voucher for this - just incase others feel the same frustration.

I havent, any moron can see this is unacceptable, the idea it takes multiple complaints from passengers before BA see how bad things are is exactly why I now avoid BA longhaul at all costs.

I find it interesting that the LHR CE catering for example appears to be at an all time high quality at the moment based on the other thread and my personal experience recently. LCY looks awful. Has it always been this way?

Yes, it looks unacceptable, but unless people complain to BA, they will think they can keep getting away with serving this rubbish. Given the lack of lounge, BA really need to be doing a lot better with their catering at LCY.

It was pre-COVID. Since full onboard service came back, however, LHR has improved vs. pre-COVID whilst LCY catering has slowly declined, so I would say LHR has been better for a while. However, the step change a couple of weeks ago with the new LCY catering makes the gap even bigger. BA clearly think they see the opportunity to squeeze some more margin out of LCY and are going for it (together with the densification).

I note there is no option to complain to BA that the quality of their catering is ****. Unless you order a special meal, as long as the food was technically edible there is no field to complain about that

Adding a voice to those saying to submit complaints if the quality of catering is declining. BACF is (openly) struggling given lack of business demand, and will be looking to cut costs where they think they can get away with it. Telling them they can’t is the best way to stop it. Make sure you specify it relates to BACF so it can be passed to the right people (AIUI the mainline catering team have nothing to do with CF or EF).

I find the standard of BA CE LHR catering good, given that its BA, but I would not say at an all-time high. There was an era with the blue round glass side plates, and first light artwork cups where the salads were topped with warmed meats such as lamb or chicken, even band 1 if I remember correctly. The champagne was Pommery, the afternoon tea had hot savouries, the trays were full-sized. This was truly great short haul business class catering. There was also a brief point pre-covid where the band 4 flights had a large starter (same size as a band 1/2 main course) which was cleared away and replaced with the main course.

That looks like a total waste of your daily calorie intake.
