BA CityFlyer catering | guide, reviews and photos

See Wiki post for info regarding CityFlyer catering, updated to include Winter menus and changes to meal timings in Euro Traveller (from 28 October). Main change for winter is that in Euro Traveller bands 2L and 3, lunch availability returns to being based on departure time rather than flying time, and also gain meals between 15:30 and 19:29.

A gold star to Zappomatic, many thanks since the logic wasn't clear at all. Now it makes more sense and much easier to anticipate what the catering will be.

This is excellent, very helpful!
Interesting to note that some of the LHR/LGW medium CE 'losers' get a much better deal from LCY (and Campari!).

Indeed it is noticeable that the Medium CE losers (and apparently they are new LHR/LGW band 2 losers also) get better catering from LCY. The LCY version of a salad of better quality and quantity at lunchtime and a hot meal in the evening is, I think, the correct offering (I would personally like a salad offering in the evening too, but I'm trying not to be too selfish in my demands...). That it is done from LCY only confirms by belief it's a (low) cost decision on BA mainline to continue under-providing on these routes, except MAD, which was upgraded for well documented reasons...

Mini-rant over, a few pics below of some CE menu items mentioned in zappomatic's excellent post above. I don't have a pic of the cod with green curry, or the tiger prawn with glass noodle salad, but have seen both and they look good. I've had the cold cut selection (not pictured) a few times, it's a decent choice though I normally take the crayfish salad over it. Also including pic of a Veg SPML ordered for Mrs O, it was plentiful and tasty, I had a little for the benefit of FT...

Thanks zappomatic. Am I right in reading it that there is no difference at all then between Band 2L and Band 3? i.e. it's really one Band 3, which is a mix of long and select medium length sectors.

Pretty much - I think there may have been a difference in the past in Euro Traveller but now the only difference is no Tribute in the Euro Traveller bar for band 3.

Same menu on the way back. I had the mackerel salad. I couldn’t take pictures as the flight was jammed due to earlier cancellations. It was more Waitrose Standard than Sainsbury’s. Overall very good. Same cheesecake......

Does this catering apply for ex-STN flights as well?

ie is e.g. STN->AGP this Saturday at 13:10 a cold meal. Asking for a friend...
