Haven't checked in a few months, and now that I actually need it, it appears to have disappeared.

Has anyone seen the cheap IKA-US fares for $1500 recently, or has that sweet spot been closed?

Thank you all!
I think ubiiest meant choosing cheapest with the f bc= option in place. Does your route include segments without PE available?

Not BA but Latam,

ROM (Rome All Airports) to SCL (Santiago Chile) £1350 in J on Latam.
  • Needs to be Latam on the TATL Book by 7th July
  • Valid routings include via LHR on BA, GRU on Latam each way not had a chance to play with other options
  • Unlimited Transfers
  • 3 Stopovers (1st Free then $100)
  • TATL books into Z
Downsides
  • 767
  • Ambiguity whether Z now earns anything on Latam due to the TP Calculator pages on BA.com, It might be an error on the website but take this into consideration if TPs are important. @megaloman has put this to BA but heard nothing back yet
Hat tip to @IAkH for posting the fare

I got no response from BA, but Z made it back to the table, so I assume it was a copy&paste error and should be earning tps and avios!

yes, thank you for clarifying. In general in Matrix if you already specify a fare code or fare basis, you can safely use “Cheapest Possible” in the scenarios where a mixed cabin itinerary is the most likely or the only possibility. This is usually the case of PE or F.

Cant seem to find anything really good for travel to USA West coast for September. Waiting for a BA Sale ( lol ) but need to press the button fairly soon.

ARN - LAX, via LHR at £1,932 is best I can find. Before I book - wondered if there were any other options I should look at? HAve tried DUB, AMS, OSL, MAD, etc

Algeirs - LAX via Madrid is £1300 - but not worth the visa/immigration hassle?! Thanks FT.

Work will be taking me to SYD (LHR based) late Jan 19. Anyone seen any good BA/QR or CX Biz prices ex EU to SYD ? Realistically what price could be achieved at that time ? Cheers

if you want BA, OSL is your best bet. You'd be looking at 2200+ GBP for r/t in J.

Realistically you have a couple of months to decide on the ex-OSL fare, so it may be worth holding out and seeing if QR do some daft sale in the meantime.

I have to go to the US pretty much every September for my annual bollocking, and it has always been really tough to find decent fares. I got really lucky this year as the £1700 INV-LHR-ORD fares in F covered my Sept dates, but in the past we've always made sure my trip is early Sept so I can fly out on the 31st Aug and take advantage of whatever crazy fare is available (OTP this year, last year it was MAN-SAT).

I've just looked - INV-LHR-ORD is available still for September dates (quite a few of them too) at £1300 return in Club.

thanks @Wozza2404 , and when I add on a J fare from ORD - LAX then I get close to the ARN fare of about 1900. I'll see if there are better options from ORD to West coast, because INV-ORD at 1300 is good. Thanks for your help!

For all those going ex-INV, how are you getting there? Every time I've looked at positioning flights they've been quite expensive. For my trip next year I ended up settling on Avios to get up there..... Is LON-EDI plus train another option, albeit much more time consuming for possibly not much more saving?

If you are London based then an avios redemption and because its one flight per day you can do a back to back at Inverness,

If you are based in Glasgow, Aberdeen or Edinburgh then train,

When I go exINV (Gla Based) I can get the train usually in advance from around £11
