2017 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2017 or earlier if you have a 2018 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #418

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

Currently being offered £99 for AMS-LHR (return leg of a TA booking) this coming week, so looks like it's gone up another £10.

It is? In well over a decade I've never been offered any sort of POUG flying from EDI and I have always booked on ba.com.

Do you get them from with NCL connections? I'd be intrigued if any others from the regions are offered POUG's, purely out of curiosity. If there have been any on here apologies if I missed the relevant posts.

Yes, I've had NCL, EDI and GLA, mainly to North America, but I've had JER offers too. But I rarely do manual changes, and you won't get them with things like hotels etc in the package.

Lucky you and I think that is very much the exception than the norm and I've still to await my first one! My flights were never touched from initial bookings and 90-95% have been flights only.

Flying TPA to LWG in June 2018. Booked WT and was offered upgrade to WT+ for £190 each only 3 or 4 days after I booked in July 17. This was dropped to £160 each at end of Aug 17 so decided to take it.

When I tried to take the offer on the App it kept failing so I called Customer Service. First call centre (located overseas) kept pushing me around agents and said offer had expired and quoted £2,000 for same upgrade. Failed in my attempt to speak to someone more senior or to complain (kept being told to go to the website).

Called back and got UK based call centre and agent tried to override system but told me that POUG's are managed by web team. He did put a note on my account to ask Airport agents to offer me upgrade there at same price.

Annoyed by not being able to upgrade I dug out the laptop, found the same offer on the desktop site and low and behold it went through first time....

But happy with my £160 per pax upgrade so far in advance of the flight.

£69 for a January flight from DUS-LHR in the app. No outbound offered there but LHR-DUS next month is being offered at £69 on my laptop's browser.

That's quite a good price for a 8/9 hour flight and definitely worth snapping up. And of course welcome to Flyertalk and the BA Board stu002 and thank you for posting that as all data points/offers are gratefully received for all to see and I shall add it to the Wiki shortly.

I think it has been reported here a few times re the App not following through but all sorted now and I hope you enjoy your flight. There is a chance that the 777 you will be flying on will be a refurbished one but it all depends on what your seatmap in Manage my Booking is showing and of course flights are always subject to potential aircraft swaps.

Funny you should mention the seatmap of the 777 we will fly on because I started posted that in the 777 seating guide threat but my browser crashes and lost the post.

We fly out towards the end of May and the seat selection suggests there are 216Y in 3x3x3 from row 15 to 39. If row 40 has been ommitted for any reason then this would tally with a 3 class 777 layout. The guide does seem to show lots of toilets though, more than on the seat guides I have seen on thebasource for example.

On our way home the first weekend in June the WT+ layout is odd. It is 32W seats starting with 4 in Row 10 (AB & JK) then three full rows of 8 (11,12,13) then row 14 is 4 seats (DEFG). This does not match any current seat layout I can find (BA.com, seatguru or thebasource) or the proposed new layout when it goes to 10 across. Also our dates and days aren't when BA is supposed to be putting this new layout on the TPA route.

This is my experience too Peter from both GLA and EDI.

I just got another 129 Euro (~113GBP) for LHR-TXL in the app. I'll update the date in the Wiki.
