I was looking forward to the 'do', but will be able to make it this year as my brother and his family have decided it's a good weekend to visit Uncle Martyn in Edinburgh.
Hope it is as good as last year and you all enjoy the event(s).

Sheraton
Hey guys. The Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa is suddenly allowing single night bookings on our weekend (previously blocked in favour of 2-night or more reservations). There are also SPG Starpoint redemption possibilities if you are feeling that way inclined. Stayed here back in February and I thought it was rather good. Just putting this out there in case anyone has yet to book a hotel room. Very nice spa, excellent breakfast in the restaurant, and a very acceptable executive lounge.
Looking forward to many wee drams with you all.

While it's not the hotel of choice for most of the visitors I ended up taking a room there due to a favorable, refundable rate I got and a particularly good promo coming up for Sheraton weekend stays in May with Starwood. I remember the place as being very nice from years ago and per discussion upstream it was confirmed as such. Got two nights anyway as I want to come in Friday after work and spend Saturday daytime exploring the place again, it has been many many years since I've been able to do this.
There is a dark siren offering two tickets to a football match that weekend, which could mess everything up ...

Right folks, if I could now get a more accurate idea of numbers please as there is a deposit to pay (by me but I will get it back on the night from those coming)
About 10 folks never turned up last year, some failed to reply by PM or post on the thread and the group had to absorb the cost so:
if I could please get confirmation if your name is on the Wiki and can't make it
I appreciate some are a still a maybe and that's OK for now as I appreciate some can't commit as yet and if you are thinking of coming please post on this thread.
Thanks ^
Pete
