A role that hasn't existed at the Bearsden store for about 10 years now.
Essentially it was one nice old man who used to say "hello" to everyone and periodically make an announcement about free tasters in aisle 16.
These days, no greeter and the only thing that thanks you for shopping with them is the self checkout.

I sincerely hope you won't be considering Hershey's under that heading. We Brits are a bit sensitive about that these days, although I do acknowledge that Hershey's and chocolate in the same clause is a bit erroneous
