2a k are not together, totally single seats.
4ef are together which we have had. On the way back row 1 opened up for us which was perfect. They are close together.

Stick with 2A/K for now. 4E/F are horribly exposed and row 5 is too close to the galley. If 1A/K open up at T-72 go ahead and snag those, though buddy dinning may be a challenge.

When solo I quite like 2 or 3 A / K on the 747 as you get a bit of separation from the person next to you (1A / K can be considered by some to be a bit 'cosy' as it's in the nose where the aircraft starts to thin a tad). from 4 backwards you have the middle seats next to you so again there's some proximity with the person next to you.
Solo traveler on a day flight on the 747 from LON to US. Available to me are the window seats (both aisles) in Rows 3-5. Seems like 3K is the way to go.
Right?

Definitely 3A or 3K. Further back is noisier with double seats in the middle of the aircraft and the galley behind Row 5.

Definitely row 3, an underestimated row I think and I'd pick the K side as the sun won't be glaring through the window going westwards to the USA.
I prefer row 3 to row 2 as the shelf/paper stand in front of 4E/F gives a bit more privacy than row 2 where 2A can look across as they are exactly opposite. Very pedantic I know but this is the Flyertalk!

747 row 1 - again!
Just booked for 2 in first on a 747 for next year - me gold, she silver. All seats are showing as available and 1A and 1K both appear available, and I can select them but it comes up as an error, presumably because we are not both gold (as above, post #1282 ). I suppose MMB is showing them both because I can have either one, but we cant have both. That is not made at all clear in the MMB process and even when I stick myself in 1A it still shows 1K available for her.
What is the best strategy to try to get row 1? Book 1A and 2A and hope 1K comes up? If I book 2A/K now, presumably some other gold will nab 1A or K.

Personally I'd choose 1K/2K and just keep an eye on the seat map in MMB unless you want to be adjacent to each other so therefore choose row 2 for both of you.
Row 1 if not chosen by another Gold/Prem beforehand can start to show from T-72 but not guaranteed.

Bkk vs sin
We have the choice between those. So it's 787 vs 777.. Around 200 euros more fore the 787 .
We are 5 people.. Is it worth it?
Thnx

1a / 1k in first on 747
Just wondering when these open up to non gold members?. I can place myself there but mrs. Firstlight cannot. Does this change at 72 hours, at olci or at another time? Thanks in advance.

Have you checked that the seat isn't already taken?

Call the gold line and ask them to put Mrs Nongold in 1K. You will likely get it done.
