It's 16 trips to JER to make 1280 TP (unless positioning flights are counted?)

You are indeed correct.

15 trips to JER gives the same TPs as the HNL TP run, that's where I got the number 15 from!

Since you only need 1280 points, then just a simple r/t should do it:

BRU-LHR-ORY-EWR-LAX-HNL, HNL-LAX-JFK-LCY//LHR-MAD-BRU: 1280 TPs £1792. £1.40/TP. If you start from BRU on Saturday morning, you could have all Sunday afternoon, Monday and Tuesday to spend in HNL, setting off Tuesday night and arriving back in BRU Thursday evening. Sounds like a delightful trip!

Unless angatol's planning to propose a quick trip to SCL and back in there somehow!

Oops. Corrected.

I won't mind doing this trip myself actually. Don't think I could persuade the missus to come along though...

Same here, actually, although I only need 900 TPs between now and September. Might be nice to have a mostly-redeem year and still be silver afterwards.

May seem obvious with the flights in the sticky, but JER-LGW-RAK in R comes to 339 for 240 TP, making it a rather attractive 1.41 per TP.

ATH-JFK 580 TPs, 28,236 Avios for £1,257

Here's a TP earner for those that can start from Athens - 580 TPs for £1,257 @ £2.17 per TP, not the lowest perhaps but it includes CWLCY flights.

ATH-LHR/LCY-JFK-LCY/LHR-ATH in CE and CWLCY; 80 TPs and 3,735 Avios each way between Athens and London, 210 TPs and 10,383 Avios each way between LCY and JFK, total 580 TPs and 28,236 Avios. (Avios calculated as silver.)

A compulsory <24 hour overnight in London is necessary westbound if you want to use BA1 and a <24 hour overnight in London is optional on the return.

I7 bookable until 5 February, complete travel by 30 Sept 2013. No >24 hour stopovers in London. Earliest return from JFK Sunday.

Worth point out that the run fares to Caribbean/Central American destinations outside the US (ANU, BGI, PTY etc) are "proper" Business class I fares. If there is any rebooking you are more likely to be accomodated in the forward cabin rather than dumped in Y with a xUP fare.

You can optimise this a little bit if you go to BOS instead:
ATH-LHR//LCY-JFK-ORD-BOS r/t 820 TPs for £1347 @ £1.64/TP

Damn you, hadn't realised the O/B travel window was so long - I'll now need to investigate!

Also a nice little earner is to go to Thessaloniki via Jersey.

LGW - JER rtn (80 TP, £180)
JER - SKG rtn (via LGW) (240 TP, £314)

I make that 320 TP for £492, or £1.54 per TP.

Doing a similar routing to places like Dubrovnik, Bari, Verona, Pisa, Geneva etc all seem to return <£2 per point when routed via JER.

Would be a pain of course!

All help appreciated. In Washington early March

Hi All,

I will be in Washington in early March visiting friends (LHR - IAD in Club, Avios upgrade from WT+ thanks to my education from FT!!!!!!) and have a few days spare between 3rd and 5th March for a TP run. No target for TP. Anything between 300 and 500 will be handy.

There are those on this forum with more expertise than me at sniffing out the best deals so all pointers appreciated. I've done a few TP runs in the last few years but has always taken me ages to work something out. I know about Instant Upgrade as that's what I've used, normally DCA to JFK and then on from there but no idea how to find the most lucrative routing!

Appreciate any help
