The latest version (2010) of the First cabin (termed "Prime" internally by British Airways, or "New First") is available on all 4-class 777s and all 747s.

An newer evolution (2013) of the First seat (Prime+) is found on all A380s, and a newer version still (2015) is available on all 787-9s.

The older version of the First cabin (termed "Classic" internally by British Airways, or "Old First") has now been withdrawn.

747 information updated to 31 March 2016. Last change: withdrawal of G-BNLF, the last OF aircraft

In the next few months you will be able to enjoy the finest in contemporary British sophistication, understated elegance and exceptional quality of service when you travel in our new First.

Well this is the above statement on BA.COM. The next few months to me means certainly before the end of the year to be honest.

I would suspect that this is due to the fact that conversions are only happening when the planes are in for full check at CWL, and that isn't that often I think.

I doubt it, as I cannot see BA going to the expense of having separate hangar inputs for re-fitting the first cabin. By combining the refits with a C-check, it allows them to be done at a time when the seats and cabin furnishing would be getting removed for overhaul anyway, thereby reducing the costs of installing the new stuff.

This statement is already true. You just have to fly on the one route...

I travelled to LHR from JNB recently in F.

The First Lounge in JNB had no AC. Unbearably hot so left. Escorted to my seat as usual. Overhead lights not working and broken foot seat. Some pretty aweful stains on seat. The wine menu was given out but no Sav Blanc due to the lot on the LHR to JNB drinking it all. Mediocre main course but great bacon sandwich. No PJ`s apparently insufficent loaded in LHR. AVOD failed again and had to be rebooted.

Heard the CSD announcement but no sign of her throughout the flight. ( incidently same as previous 4 F flights. To busy assisting CW customers I believe )

Did this F experience stand out - Yes because we had a great Purser and CC

Oh incidently, waited in LHR for luggage for over an hour but alas didnt turn up - still in SA apparently.

Price per ticket £7600 per person return

Yes BA. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Looking forward to your new F product but until you can service it properly its likely to be same old same old.

Priceless.

Would I fly with BA again - Probably

Quite. And not 2012.

Whilst I do not have unreasonable expectations and have some understanding of what might be required to change the whole 747/777 fleet that will continue to offer F, it would be wise and appropriate for BA to manage expectations; particularly as the F passengers are those who the airline MUST hold onto/attract.

I trust that ba.com will be amended appropriately.

I absolutely agree with you. BA have made every reasonable effort to give you a pleasant experience. The air conditioning in the lounge is out of their control. I am sure that they were getting someone to fix it.

You have mentioned that the CSM did not come and visit you. Quite right that with all the recent staffing changes she would be busy in CW. I understand CW is the most demanding cabin, he or she would have been run off their feet.

No Sav Blanc, no PJs in First Class. Again BA were let down by their suppliers. I am sure you received an apology for these missing items. Non-functioning AVOD - again it is out of BA's hands. Obviously a problem with the software when they received it. I am sure that the CSM would have tried to fix it during a break from looking after the CW passengers.

Interesting that no CSM has visited you in 4 BA flights. That is most unusual. Must be due to the staffing changes. I'm sure they would have been looking for the opportunity to speak with their F customers if they could have.

Missing luggage? Again quite understandable as the luggage handlers have to look after the luggage for thousands of passengers. You can't expect them to get it right all the time.

7600 pounds for this experience does seem abit rich. But you need to focus on the positive aspects and remember that the BA staff involved would have had good intentions.

Glad to hear you are happy to give them another go. BA really do want your business.

Yep your right of course. Thanks for correcting me. Oh by the way luggage still not arrived!!

The intention was not so much to predict (we don't have the same tool CO do to track flights up to 3 days ahead), but to see what routes its taking and where. Am sure that is interesting for some to know, especially as its only one plane. How about you can only post here if you actually know the routing of the jet? Seems its been doing the Chicago route only so far?

Sounds just like my BA F experiences!
I have stopped paying for F tickets with BA a long time ago. It's OK as an op-up but I hardly ever MFU to F either. Just not worth it IMHO.
