According to this thread, it re-opened at the end of March.
With the new changes, I am very curious what the "official" liquids limit is at present.

In summary, don't bring any oversize liquids that your reaction to them being chucked away would be anything more than a shrug.

Thanks. My current policy excludes certain countries, including the whole of North America. It's not really a concern for me anymore, but if I really want to go to the USA, Mexico or the Carribbean again I'll get a quote for a one-off trip; I guess it would probably be a few hundred pounds, which wouldn't really put me off. For now at least I've seen enough of all of those locations so it's not worth paying the extra on my annual policy. Never say never though...
You, my love, sound practically like Steve Austen and I fully understand your decision - if that went wrong in the USA it would cost a fortune. I'm so sorry and hope that your days are pain free.

new machine "teething problems" at T5
i was using an old style security machine at T5 North security on Saturday evening ...
and the staff member pointed out the long queue of bags that were waiting for secondary screening at the next door "new" machine!
the security guy said that staff are not allowed override the machine - even when it's obviously a sandwich or a banana or whatever ...
and this has been happening for months!
