According to this thread, it re-opened at the end of March.

With the new changes, I am very curious what the "official" liquids limit is at present.

To save people rummaging through a different thread, the official liquid limit is that until all lanes at the terminal are upgraded, the existing rules stay in effect. This is necessary, amongst other reasons, in case of an unscheduled closure meaning passengers are diverted to a different lane.

In summary, don't bring any oversize liquids that your reaction to them being chucked away would be anything more than a shrug.

For now at least I've seen enough of all of those locations so it's not worth paying the extra on my annual policy. Never say never though...
I'm sorry - I have just seen this. When I think of the times that my husband is pulled because of his hip replacement. It is no big deal but it is something of which we are constantly aware as it goes off everywhere that the scanner is working. I know that on a couple of occasions it didn't and we were both persuaded that the thing may have had flashing light but either it was set not to go off (If that is possible) or was faulty.

You, my love, sound practically like Steve Austen and I fully understand your decision - if that went wrong in the USA it would cost a fortune. I'm so sorry and hope that your days are pain free.

Edinburgh has also 'welcomed' the news so I guess they're not going to hit it either.

More delays and more toothless regulatory action

Prehaps some ex OFWAT staff are now at DOT.

new machine "teething problems" at T5

i was using an old style security machine at T5 North security on Saturday evening ...
and the staff member pointed out the long queue of bags that were waiting for secondary screening at the next door "new" machine!
the security guy said that staff are not allowed override the machine - even when it's obviously a sandwich or a banana or whatever ...
and this has been happening for months!

My experience with the CT scanners elsewhere has been that even though my bag gets pulled for secondary, the security staff can view a 3D image of the contents of my bag on the screen, including spinning it around using their fingers on the touch screen and virtually always clear it without even touching or opening the bag,
