LHR T5 First Wing Security 11 week closure [now reopened]
The Frist wing is to be closed from Jan to April next year.
This dose not spefic why.

Surely that doesn't require a complete closure for 4 months?
Could they not do one lane at a time? Quite often when I go through only 1 of the 2 sides is open anyway.

Hasn't it been suggested before that the floor in T5 isn't strong enough to support the new machines (5t each)? Maybe there's more in depth structural work required as opposed to just wheeling them in.

Truly awful. I can only assume that floor strengthening is to be undertaken.
