Hey, I don't have access to the ANA-tool and are desperatly trying to book a one-way first award on either LX, LH or UA (in this order of preferances) from the US on either the 6. or 7. of November to Europe. Really sorry about asking this, but after a sting of difficulties with diamond club call centre I am having to ask someone here what they think!
I am keen to get 2 tickets business class (one-way) from Sydney to London on 23rd April. I was told that there are no flights on business on the second segment of the journey (ie Bangkok to London, or Singapore to London) but could do it via Frankfurt. I have subsequently called to book and have been told twice (by different people) that there are are no flights at all from Frankfurt to London (no flights per se not just flights with availability). Of course there are, but I was wondering if anyone has any idea if there are business class flights available. I could potentially be flexible by one day either way. Grr.. they are quite annoying at times, it is so dependent who you get!! Would really appreciate help if anyone has any tips or ideas... |

They only fly 4 days a week from ICN to LHR so maybe if you moved a day either side you might get some availability (their business class is very good). Otherwise, if it was me I'd just bite the bullet and fly eco on the FRA to LHR leg. If it's like the FRA - BHX flight then the seat and legroom is the same anyway, the only difference is whether the curtain is in front of you or behind you. |

I have been regularly flying for the past 7 years and this website made me excited about :-::-::-: miles and rewards :-::-::-:like never before. I am BMI Silver with 104,000 (or 120,000 with the fam account) destinations miles and 27,500 status miles. I think I will become Gold after my flights in the next few weeks. Last few weeks I have been educating myself on booking a reward flight as this should be a vise decision with the anticipated of the M&M merge. I called to the ICC twice and have been offered few "strange" options. Before I will book anything, I would really appreciate any help checking availability and selecting the most rewarding route. Outbound: YVR (prefer) or SEA to DME in business or first any day between Sep 25-29, 2010 Inbound: DME to YVR (prefer) or SEA in business or first any day between Oct 29-Nov 5, 2010 Would it be better to book these segments separately, if I need to change the return date. Thank you in advance and I will start to comment and share my experiences now. |
Thanks for the advice. Looks like there isnt much availability on the long haul legs either.. may have to be flexible with my days i guess.. Really dont mind flying econ from Frankfurt to London! I have heard Asiana is good from friends, so may enquire about that. Cheers.

Taking a quick look at the outbound dates, there is no transatlantic availability for the most straightforward routes - YVR-LHR-DME or YVR-FRA-DME. Nor are there any available business seats on the UA flight IAD-DME that week, though there are a few in first (26th and 29th Sept). The good news is there are plenty of *A cites in Europe which serve DME - LHR with BD, BRU with SN, ZRH with LX, VIE with OS and several German cities with LH. And there are plenty of hubs in North America which might connect to them. But you will probably need a routing like YVR-hub in USA-hub in Europe-DME (maybe the strange options already presented?) You may want to want to look in the stickies to learn how to use the ANA award search tool to play around yourself as there are so many possible routes. And yes, booking two one-way awards is always recommended! |

Ive been away from FT for a while. Combination of some family issues, paying bills and my KVS expired. So just rejoined today and was looking for some flights. The thing is, Im having difficulity finding anything except us airways!!! From what I can see, they are to be avoided like the plague!
So outbound 31/10/2010 DUB via ANYWHERE/ANY ROUTING TO MCO. Am I doing something wrong with KVS, I cant find anything. Can someone look and tell me Im not MAD! :confused: |
