Right, i'm a div. I can't get the UA on the 27th to make the NZ on the 28th, simply because the grand prix is a night race on the 26th/27th, so i'll either have been up all night or what have you.

So looks to me like my favoured 2 options are:

TG, as kindly suggested on the 28th. Can anyone give me any linkies to how TG C class is on these routes?
Or TK part C, part F, again any linkies to how good the C is, i know the F will be outstanding. Also a rough idea of cost on this?

As previously posted wanted to use my miles for 2 adults, 2 children return trip Man - Larnaca (LCA)

We would like to do next July so wanted to check this was possible and potentially do business class.

Did as much looking online as possible and calculated I would have to do the following route:
Man - MUC - LCA out and LCA - FRA - MAN return
So far so good

Called the ICC today and she calculated it as 29,250 miles (each) and ~£206 taxes
That seems way OTT for a zone 1 to zone 2

Is this correct or should I stick to a simpler route ?
I have 100,000 miles so would need to buy 18,000 so would mean forking out approx £1,000 (buy miles and taxes) for 2 adults and 2 children to larnaca - is it just because its not a direct route?

Help!! What other destination could I do a nice family holiday travelling business with 100,00 airmiles?

Multiply by 1.5 for business = 29,250.

LH themselves are pricing the fees/taxes for MAN-FRA-LCA in business next (2011) July as :
Fuel and Security Surcharge GBP 96.40
Air Passenger Duty (APD) GBP 24.00
Passenger Service Charge GBP 13.64
Other tax/charge GBP 0.80
Airport Service Charge (International) GBP 17.60
Other tax/charge GBP 1.60
Passenger Service Charge - Intl GBP 25.40
Total GBP 179.44


The "connecting flight" surcharge and double airport/fuel tax means that short-haul redemptions like this are rarely top value for money.

have dutifully credited a hertz rental to ANA but waiting for it to post... in the meantime, could anyone check possibilities for a one-way, UK-North East US (NYC, PHL, BOS, etc), biz or 1st, around August 23/24/25 ?

Initial check for LX availability on EF shows business seats (5 x I) on the PrivatAir LX18 ZRH-EWR on Wed 25 August, nothing on the other two days.

LX52 ZRH-BOS has one F award seat on 24 August and on 25 August there are two in F and one in business.

Nothing on SQ or CO that I could see. LH has F available on 24 August, LH 402 from FRA to EWR.

If none of those work for you then I'm sure someone can search for US and UA availability to IAD or PHL.

Can anyone help with the following? I'd like to take family (4 of us) from GLA - MCO in Business, leaving either 13th or 14th October, coming back 22nd (ish). I've had a look using ANA, but can't find that much. Any suggestions?

LHR-ZRH-JFK
JFK-ZRH-LHR

Dates, outbound 1st Jan-3rd Jan (any date, inclusive of these) inbound 6th Jan-8th Jan. Ideally I want 5 nights before coming home. Need 2 seats in Business, really appreciate if anyone can check availability for me.

Just checked for you:

1st Jan - 2 x F ZRH-JFK
2nd Jan - 4 x J ZRH-EWR (Business Jet service)
3rd Jan - 7 x J ZRH-EWR

6th Jan - 8 x J EWR-ZRH
7th Jan - 5 x J EWR-ZRH
8th Jan - no availability

Basically if you want business class redemptions and you want those dates, then you'll need to go with the EWR business jet services. Connections should be available easily enough on the LHR-ZRH-LHR legs.
