ANA and the Aeroplan websites were clearly stating that there were seats in all classes for the two passengers.
I tried again for the fourth time after an hour had passed by, and, with a different booking agent got the whole thing sorted as originally requested with no hitch at all.
The lesson is: keep calling!

HKG-CHC-AKL-SIN-IST-MAN (that was seriously suggested)? Why woud they route you all the way to New Zealand and then back north again? That's crazy!

If I had the time, I would have taken up the offer, but what a stupid computer system it must be if it throws up that sort of routing.
Incidentally, I also enquired if DC points could be used for Circle Asia passes and was told that the agent had never heard of this type of ticket. Has anyone ever tried this?

I want to return from Hong Kong to Manchester on Turkish Airlines with a stop over in Istanbul for a couple of nights. Three times in 20 minutes I enquired and three times I was told there was no availability on this route in any class, but I could go via Christchurch, Auckland, and then Singapore to Istanbul and Manchester!

Has anyone successfully managed to get 4 seats on the LAX-BKK TG flight?
2 seats are available on the date that I want, was wondering if the grab 2 and 2 more open up tactic will work on this flight?
