First time I am posting here since I have always been able to find what I am looking through thanks to ANA. But this one is apparently more difficult. Right now I am living in Hong Kong but I am moving up to Beijing with a little too much stuff.
Since I also need a one-way ticket I was thinking of getting two C-class tickets with CA HKG-PEK as a one-way award with BD. No problem, found plenty of options through ANA. However, once I get up to Beijing I think it would be a waste to not use my Z8-ticket to its full extent so I am planning to continue to ALA (Almaty) some weeks later after a stop-over in Beijing.
The problem is that no matter how I search PEK-ALA, it only says invalid routing or something like that. My favourite option would be to fly with Asiana via ICN (which is also the routing suggested online in the Star Alliance timetable). My preferred date for the PEK-ALA flight would be Friday 17 June 2011 but I am very flexible. Does anyone know if HKG-PEK-ICN-ALA would be a valid routing for an internal Z8-redemption?

Thanks, in the end I went for a revenue ticket as I got a good price with a somewhat different routing, but thanks anyway. On a completely different note I was a bit disappointed to find that HKG-PEK-STOPOVER-ICN-NRT was not a valid routing (maximum mileage exceeded) and that the only valid route is HKG-NRT direct...

Hi there looking for 2 one-way redemptions in first or business from LAX or SFO to LHR on 17th or 18th Sept. Happy to have a 1 night stopover in USA/ Canada or a European hub. Thank you all in advance

Advice required. I can see availability in Expertflyer for a flight with Swiss, in Business class 'I'. Diamond club cannot book it though, is there something special about Swiss, or should I keep trying telephone operators ? I'm on my third attempt and still no dice.

what about those CO op by VS flights that show up on Continental Onepass mileage redemption page? Are those bookable at the BMI DC call center? Strange to begin with that codeshares are available with Onepass miles, but anyway, is the availability for BD miles the same? So, I would get eco plus on VS for C miles? For a day flight westbound that might be good enough, as nothing else seems to there on EUrope-NYC early July in real C these days (at least no high UK departure tax on VS eco plus I assume...)

Hi, first post, but I have been 'hoverring' on these boards for a number of months! Some fantastic help and the ANA tool has been very useful.
I am looking at a DC points redemption for the route EDI-SYD. Looking at the available options, the SIN-SYD leg is a no go on the dates. But there are a good few options for the EDI-SIN (either via LHR or FRA). I think my preference is the EDI-FRA-SIN using their new A380 which connects with an SQ service on codeshare.
If I purchase the EDI-SIN legs with my DC points and then purchase the SIN-SYD leg direct with SQ (or agent), will they check my bags for the whole route, even though the tickets are separate (but still with *A)?
Hope this makes sense and that you guys have some thoughts on this?

I've been in the same situation as yours : one award ticket and one paid ticket and it has been possible to check my bags for the whole route.
But I don't know how BMI EDI works !

I assume that if I managed to get the whole EDI-SYD on the same ticket that it would be checked right through?
