I am looking for an award to SEZ...

Where do I need to get to to get it booked as a BD award?

Where can I check the availability?

Thanks in advance

Using imagination on the kangaroo route...

OK... in the never ending quest to use miles imaginatively to and from Australia... do you think we would get away with this one way redemption from Sydney to Manchester?

SYD-ICN-YVR (STOPOVER) YVR-LHR-MAN

Cheers!

Is this a valid 2 one way award redemptions?

First time trying to redeem for award using BD DC miles.

Desired routing
SIN- BKK (so) - MNL // MNL- SIN - KUL

I want to do it all in Business for 2 people with BKK-MNL on SQ and the rest of the sectors on TG.

Any guess on how much the taxes will be on these 2 awards using the miles & cash option? I know that OW J for zone 7-zone 7 is 7,500 and 51 GBP per person... how much will the taxes and YQ add to the award? Thanks for your help!

You don't know if you don't try but Great Circle Mapper shows ICN-LHR direct as 5520 and ICN-YVR-LHR as 5108+4723 (=9831). That looks like quite a detour.

Dar-zrh-cai-lca ?

Hi!

I'm looking at booking the following:

Dar Es Salaam - Zurich (Swiss, First)
3 hour connection
Zurich - Cairo (Swiss, First)
1.5 hour connection
Cairo - Larnaca (Egyptair, Business)

Is this a valid Z5-Z2 routing? Egyptair fly from DAR to CAI directly, but they don't offer First class, hence the via ZRH bit.

18750 + £125 cash?

Thanks!

would think it unlikely (but you never can tell) the DAR-CAI-LCA route is 2,962 miles and your proposed route is 6,242 so more than double

Would this be a valid Z1-Z3 oneway award?

CDG-ORD / STL-PHX

Or would it need to be CDG-ORD-PHX?

If the latter, could I book it as CDG-ORD / ORD-IAH-PHX, so I needn't endure Y for a 3h flight? (it is still domestic Economy for US redemptions in Biz, right?)

Hi folks,

Sorry is this one has been posted before but my search has been fruitless.....

I would like to to ABZ to HKG in Nov but there are limited seats on LH via FRA and none on NZ via LHR. There are however seats on TG via BKK from London or Frankfurt. Can I do Z1 to Z7 via Z8? If so, is a stopover in BKK allowed on the way back?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, routing via BKK or SIN is quite usual, and stopovers have been accepted easily.

DUB - Hong Kong using miles

Hi all,

Quick question (and apologies if it has been asked/answered before)! Looking to use some BMI miles for a return trip to Hong Kong. Is it possible to travel via Newark with Continental?

Thanks in advance:)

Highly unlikely that this would be permitted as it would well exceed the mileage going eastbound.

Zone 4 -> Zone 1 via Zone 3?

Hi,

as I found some contradicting information on my search whether a Z4->Z1 routing via Z3 is allowed (i.e. South America to Europe via USA (e.g. GRU-ORD-LHR)), I am keen to know if anybody was (recently) successful in booking such a routing (or similar)!

Thanks for your help!

I'm still learning the Diamond Club game (before M&M takes over) but I've got the following on hold:

FRA-OSL-KEF-OSL-VIE-EVN-LHR-FRA in business class

I have been quoted ~55K miles and 412GBP in taxes.

Does that sound about right?

The way I see it 6,000 + 7,500 for FRA-OSL-KEF. Then 6,000 + 15,000 for OSL-KEF-VIE-EVN. Finally, 6,000 + 7,500 for EVN-LHR-FRA.

Total = 48K miles x 1.5 for business
Grand Total = 72K

So I don't know where the 55K comes from (after originally thinking the award would simply be (6K+6K+6K)*1.5= 27K miles)

Or should the total be 49.5K because the connecting segments are only charged at the half rate (not 7500 but 3750 per flight)?

Any way I can improve this award (not taking into account availability)?

Many thanks for your feedback.

Well I booked Z1-Z4 via Z3 no problems (GVA-NYC-LIM in my case), though admittedly there aren't any direct options to LIM, and it's a bit more direct. But if there is no direct availability I think you'd probably be okay.

And, as I entirely forgot to say - welcome to FlyerTalk!
