I was told to take that "new" Impala over there. "new" apparently means under 20K on the odometer. I've also learned that a non-smoking vehicle is one currently without a smoker sitting in it.

Recieved: Lincoln Town Car
-The lady at the prefered desk said that they are phasing out the Caddy's from the Avis fleet and going with the Lincoln's. I thought that this was werid since Avis rents mainly GM cars.
-She also stated that all the Chairman's beat me to the Caddy's and I am lucky to get what I have.

I for one will be so happy to see the last of the "old" Fords (Taurus/Sable, Crown Vic, Grand Marq, Town Car) retired from rental fleets. It's such a let-down to pay extra for an H on the occasions I specifically reserve one to find that all they have is a TC. But, it looks like Ford has a commitment to producing the TC at least for years to come: https://www.fleet.ford.com/showroom/...Production.doc
Now, if they could come out with something modern that would be a competitor to the 300, that would be more than welcome.

Received: Eclipse Spyder - I was first given a DTS but learned from the previous rental. The only bummer was the weather ended up going downhill to the point where it wouldn't have been a good idea to put the top down. Also, it's weird to have a sports car with an automatic transmission.

Was your Eclipse a V-6 or the I-4? I have been meaning to rent one at the past few locations I have been to but they did not have the V-6 available at the time.

I didn't check but it didn't feel to me like a V6!

First time I've been given an SUV when conditions called for one. Regretfully. I mean, it's April, for goodness sake.
