As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. I need a 4 weekday rental in Florida and found this code which gave me an EXCELLENT rate of only $100 for most cars incld mini-van! This sounds too good to be true.
Do you know where this rate comes from?
Is this safe to use?
I do not want to be asked to present some ID/ voucher and then forced to pay rack rate.
First first trip with babies so cannot afford any hassles.

In general you would be hard pressed to find good discount in Florida because it is high season.

Go to hertz.com - they have lease-buster specials starting at 499/mo for as many months as you need it, provided you pick up the car before March. There is also a 100/off coupon you can use.
Avis has nothing to match coupon wise - I couldn't get my local Avis shop to match the Hertz offer, so you're better off dumping Avis.

Thanks for the list. For mid-Feb. the car rates are sky-high (yup - within the North East school break calendar). Right now I have Avis at $228/week/intermediate. Just tried the above codes and got the following rates before free-day coupon....

Just booked a 6-day rental in KOA (Kona, Hawaii) and rates were all over the map for a compact. Some codes produced rates as high as $210 before taxes. Finally stumbled across K199060 (major Florida tourism organization) and base dropped to $145.

Thanks for this informaion, does anyone know if any ID will be needed with these codes, I found a great rate with AWD 113400 but it saidys it si the State of FLorida corporate rate, since my liscence is from another state, i am worried about using it. Any thoughts? The next best minivan rate i found was the one above for Flroida Visitors Bureau....Would love someone elses input.
