Hi,
Last year when I was in the states I used my AVIS corporate AWD code P271899 for a 4 day hire pick up in LA and drop off at Vegas McCarran for $145.88. The prices included unlimited mileage but no LDW. I'm heading back to the states later this year and this time I need a 5 day rental to be picked up at McCarran and drop off at LAX. The quote I got with the same AWD no longer includes unlimited mileage. Could someone please help with providing a good AWD code that includes unlimited mileage. Thanks a lot. it is P271899 |

You could try A442100 (Deloittes), which worked well in early 2011 ~ the rate may vary depending on which country you indicate you are resident of ~ NZ worked well at that time...

Does anyone have a good Avis one-way code that will work from SFB to Cape Canaveral?

C031529 is the lowest I've found. A382900 isn't too bad. Think I'd get ID'd for either? |

Florida State Code
When returning a car to an off-airport location recently, the agent provided me with the Florida State code to use for future rentals. I previously worked for an employer eligible to use that code and used it often on work-related travel. However, I am no longer employed (retired) and advised the agent of that. He said, no problem, you can still use it. My first thought was that once I am no longer an employee, the state contract rate should not be used. But I am all for saving money, but will not do so improperly. I will be needing a rental car in Colorado for personal use in January, and using the state rate saves about $150 a week over the rate I can get otherwise.
Any thoughts, or suggestions for other codes? |

Works really well and no ID is ever required. |

I tried this code in Sept 2012 for a rental in New Zealand in Nov 2012. The baseline rate I got for a 3 day hire without an AWD was $230, LDW included. With this AWD it was $228 + $5 per day for the LDW.
Our rental was for a 10 day period and as I recall this may be one of the codes that has a 5-day minimum to produce good results ~ then again it's usefulness may have expired ~ may still be worth checking for slightly longer rentals. As always, YMMV. tb |

Does anyone know where the code E153702 came from? It's giving me a favorable rate but I can't seem to find it's source?

Google Avis E153702 and you will find an Avis Corp doc pdf that refers to this as an employee discount code. Doc is in French but refer to pg 9. http://217.117.155.103/portal/server...personnel_avis |

Hi folks,
I'm looking to rent one way from Orlando (MCO) to New Orleans (MSY) for about 10 days. All of the codes I've tried either have a huge ($300) drop fee or don't have unlimited mileage. Does anyone know of a code that might include unlimited miles and doesn't have a drop fee? I know it might not exist, but I figured if you don't ask....... thanks in advance. |

Wanted to say thanks for the info in this thread.
I rented a compact car for 9 days from our small local airport for a trip for about 240. I got there and they offered me a Kia Sorento upgrade at no charge so I took it. While on the way home to pack my wife who was following me noticed the plates expired in July. Called to talk to them, got run around on the phone for ever and finally emergency roadside said I needed to take it back. Honestly I was pissed, another trip to the airport, missed going to the bank since it's now closed. The guy offered me a Murano. He said he couldn't offered me any discount now, but when I returned it he could take some off. In the end I got the Murano for 9 days for $167 instead of the almost $500 regular rental for it. Thanks FT. |

Fletch14: What is your company's name. I called AVIS to book it and they asked me name. They also said that counter may ask for ID if not certainly name of the company for this code's validity. WOuld appreciate if you could provide that....

Does anybody know/have any good codes for a 4 day rental from SBA in California?
|
Do I have any hope of finding a deal on a mini van rental? It seems like every coupon/code I find doesn't include the van category, which seems to be treated as kind of a premium class. I'm looking at 4 days for over $300 which just seems crazy.

Where and when? I have a few things I can look at. Vans are typically expensive, unfortunately. Maybe you can get everyone into a small SUV instead? Or, depending on who is in your clan, it might be less expensive to rent 2 intermediate cars.

Thanks for the response and suggestions. Pickup December 14 dropoff the 18th (4 days) in Madison, WI. Right now I have one reserved at the Sears Auto Center location for ~$300. I looked into Costco discounts but the only one that works is for a location on the other side of town and not worth the hassle for $20-$30 savings. My current vehicle is a small SUV but with 4 adults, an infant seat, and luggage it is just too tight, and with a little over 1000 miles for this trip I think doubling the gas cost would eat any savings of renting two smaller vehicles. I'm prepared to go with what I have (and $300 is actually quite a bit lower than the competitors) but just a little frustrated with what seems like price gauging a captive market. I've tried a few of these one-way codes but have not had much luck with them, probably due to the "premium" vehicle.
A quick Priceline search shows $277 for Avis on Darwin Rd, with a minivan. I'm not sure if they have the bidding option on PL for cars, but it's worth looking into. |

$303 is the best I can do for those 4 days. I've got 1200 included miles, so be sure you have unlimited or will keep it under that cap if you're comparing prices! If that's better than yours, let me know and I can let you know the AWD I used.

Does anybody have the 2013 Entertainment Book coupon codes for Avis? I'd like to see if it's worth getting the book. Thx!

My wife and I are driving from PDX to SFO; pick up 6/27 - 9 am drop off 7/5 7 am (8 days). Is there a rate I can look at this far out or should I wait until 2013 codes come out? Hertz was around $650 includes a small drop off; I looked at Thrifty and they want over $1000 with drop off. I didn't put in any codes just Hertz #1.
|
There are some very good one-way rate codes in the National Car forum.

Just curious ... if you use this code (A113400 State of FL employee rate-->EXCELLENT RATE!) will you be asked for ID to prove?
Any good codes you would suggest where no type of proof at rental time is needed? |

Any good codes you would suggest where no type of proof at rental time is needed? "That is the EMPLOYEE code. if the location has any skill, you will be asked to show your employee swipe card. A153722 is now used for family of employees, but its use requires an accompanying letter of introduction on company letterhead with the name of the manager writing the letter, the employee relation, and the name of the employee. It also has the phone number (cell) of the manager who wrote the letter and Avis managers almost ALWAYS answer their cell. I was told not answering my cell means that I am not on duty, ergo my company rental car should be turned in as it is for "on duty" use only. so I always answered my phone. So you can try...but i know people who were banned from renting with avis for getting caught using this. If caught, best case scenario, you need to find a new car on the fly, or pay the walk up rate for underage no reservation, worst, you can never rent with Avis and Budget RAC again.") I guess the question is...... why risk the embarassment and frustration for an extra few bucks, maybe ? There are plenty of other codes on this forum that do extremely well with discounts and have a much lower risk level. My favorite that I use every week is is G417900, but there are plenty of good codes to choose from. http://www.kellsport.com/kellwoodtravel.html |
That seems like a good rate. DO I need an ID or anything for using this one - G417900
Thanks. |

The Hilton Hhonors # gave me a good rate on an international rental recently, and it's one most of us don't even have to worry about greasing our way into using... just sign up for Hhonors! :)
