Is there anywhere during the booking process or on the confirmation email that indicates what extras - if any - a particular code comes with?

A friend told me about a code (B920508) during this past summer that got really good rates. I used successfully twice with no issues (they always asked at check in for a 2nd card to put the liability coverage on), and I only just now realized the potential implications regarding insurance when using one of these codes (yes I'm dumb).

- If you use a code that doesn't include liability insurance and purchase as an add-on during check in, would that avoid potential issues? Or, just using a code would cause claims getting rejected?
- Is collision coverage any different (my card includes it)?

Thanks for any help! ps - I know it is almost a certainty that this has been addressed previously but I read and searched through a lot of this thread, and elsewhere online, and haven't really found a confident answer.

Code is for RTS Corp.

I just called Avis Preferred CS and they told me it was limited to RTS employees.

Note that B270898 is NOT the Costco AWD. Just because someone posts something somewhere doesn't make it accurate.

Costco customers AWD is A108326.

I’ve been wondering about that. I use the three normal Costco AWDs and thought that one must be an employee/business rate or something?

It has nothing to do with Costco. It's a corporate discount code for an entirely different company.

Anyone use AWD: D008490 and get the following email? Just got this email today.

I know DEN is a "Avis Preferred Select & Go" location so hopefully I can go straight to the car and avoid the desk. I still have a active Costco booking with Budget that I haven't cancelled that is around the same price. Avis is technically less because of "Amex Offer" of saving $75 on $250+ spent.

We are writing regarding the vehicle you reserved for pick up on XXXXXXXX, 2021 at Denver Intl Apo. As you may know, this reservation was made using a corporate AWD discount code that is not available to the general public and requires validation of eligibility at the time of vehicle pick up.

Accordingly, please be prepared to produce your company badge, a business card, or a recent email with the company's domain name for corporate identification purposes at the time of vehicle pick up. If you’re unable to provide this validation of eligibility for the corporate AWD discount code, your reservation may be voided and/or the rental rate is subject to change.

Our goal is to ensure that you have a seamless rental experience so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.

If you need to update your reservation, please contact our reservation center at 1-888-439-0630. Our customer support agents will be happy to assist you with finding the best rate available for your travel needs.

Thank you,
Avis Customer Support Team

I received this email today after using B270898. I don’t recall ever seeing it in the past.

I received the same email using a different AWD for a non-airport rental next week. Very curious to see what the experience at check-in is like.

The thread where these recent codes were discussed quite publicly on Slickdeals was recently zapped, so I'm guessing the SD effect flooded Avis with a lot of reservations, especially given how much better the pre-negotiated corporate rates are than the current market rates. As someone who normally books on Hertz or National they are much more clear when you book with a code that it is for a specific company (they give the company name) while Avis website shows nothing when you use an AWD (I mean, its an Avis Worldwide Discount). If I didn't know from this thread, it's very plausible someone just gets the code and books with no idea its not publicly available.

While the problem exists with all the negotiated rates across all the vendors, I hope Avis at least makes their booking process more transparent in the future. That doesn't mean some people will still book it anyway but at least then less excuse. :)

looks like slickdeals just ruined the b270898 code

This European Simon code is still working...just making sure- there is no restriction on mileage? Kilométrage illimité seems too good to be true! Might have to do a one-way
There is another code I can use on USA site that is like 75% off but on one-way tags on an extra $.23/mile...if this Simon one includes everything that would be perfect.

Just used the UTC/Raytheon code in Maui. No issues... As preferred, walked straight to the car and drove off. I opened the app, it told me where the car was, got in and left. Checked my License at the main exit gate but that was it.
