When you said President Club, you mean Preferred Plus? I am not entirely familiar with Avis system mainly because LGA doesn't have Select & Go type of car.

There are two levels above Avis preferred.

Avis President's Club and Chairman's Club®

President's Club and Chairman's Club are the two highest levels of Avis' loyalty program and require an invitation.

Avis Chairman's Club has a range of benefits that define luxury. (As listed on the Avis official website:)
  • Meet-and-greet: An Avis representative will meet and escort you personally to your vehicle after you fly into any major U.S. or Canadian airport location.
  • Personal Return Valet Service: Inform Avis of your return and a representative will escort you to your departure terminal.
  • Guaranteed vehicle availability: Regardless of reservations, there will always be a vehicle available for Chairman's Club members.
  • Complimentary Upgrade: After reserving an intermediate vehicle (Group C) or larger, you'll automatically receive a complimentary upgrade to the best available car.
  • Complimentary Car Delivery: Vehicles can be delivered to you directly as long as you are within 25 miles (40 km) of a participating Avis location in either the U.S. or Canada.
  • Dedicated Customer Service line: Access to a 24/7 hotline to make reservations and receive personalized customer service.
  • Spouse or Significant Other: Your life partner may pick up the vehicle on your behalf and all of the same benefits will still apply.
Avis President's Club does not have the same level of luxury as the Chairman's Club, but these are still benefits that anyone can appreciate.
  • Double Upgrade: After booking an intermediate or higher level car, you'll automatically get a double upgrade whenever available.
  • Guaranteed Car: There will always be a car available regardless of reservations.
  • Dedicated Customer Service line: Access to a 24/7 hotline to make reservations and receive personalized customer service.

Do you know what these codes (specifically B920508) are for? And I’m guessing they don’t ID? It’s the best rate for me, but I don’t want to run into any problems.

It is specifically reserved for use by United Technologies/Raytheon employees.

Looks like these quotes keep on giving an error (and call a 0800 number). Does anyone still have a success with using these numbers?

Anyone have any discount codes that give a decent discount and free second driver.

Members of Costco and AARP get a free second driver with Avis and using the respective discount coee. We have a post here about avoiding additional driver fees in general. AutoSlash also shows when additional driver fees are waived on an offer-by-offer basis (spouses or otherwise).

Do neighborhood locations often ask for ID when using the B920508 code?

AutoSlash Feb 24, 2021 1:27 pm

If you are an employee of United Technologies Corp you won't have an issue. If you are not, then they may remove the discount and charge you the walk-up rate. Or they may not. It really depends on the agent checking you out and how much the local office enforces that sort of thing. There is really no definitive answer, and anyone who tells you that they never ask at location XXX is giving you wrong (or at least incomplete) information. It's very much a YMMV situation.

We can tell you that certain Avis locations in Manhattan have a sign at the counter that states that you must show ID when renting using a corporate discount number. We have seen them ask. Does it happen elsewhere? Yes, it can. Will it? Hard to say for sure, but better safe than sorry. Use a discount code you actually qualify for.

But what if we are Preferred Plus and eligible to just walk to the car?

AutoSlash Feb 24, 2021 1:51 pm

That mostly applies at airport locations. They may be doing contactless rentals at certain off-airport locations, but it doesn't work that way at city locations where the vehicles are located in a garage.

im guessing its always a risk but with Avis PP there really is no contact with any one who would even be in a position to ask for ID (whereas other orgs, even if you have a reserved spot/car ahead of time, youre still required to spend time at the counter). But again, this is in airports only. I've never seen a contactless situation at a city location.

HI;;

When I logged on to myh wief's account, she had Q014978 in there. I must have put it there in 2019 but don't remember. I think it might been something that I got for her signing up (as a business perhaps) but have no records.

This is for 3 days at Tampa on 5/3. Costco rates look terrible, this one works. But my wife is going to be solo and will not want any hassles. I will call Avis if no-one knows.

Cheers
Barry
