As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

Quite specific but useful for those planning an Australian West Coast road trip Broome to Perth
Switching your country of residence to an Asia/Pacific (exclu Oz and NZ) country gets the price down from $ 2.5K to ~$ 600.

Well your in luck - There is an Avis in the Greyhound station which is in Union station. But one ways can be pricey. But that is where luck might be in your favor again. When they were negotiating rates they said there is a special code for 1 way rentals. Which day? I'll call in and get a price for a Wednesday Full size just as an idea.

Looking for a code to book a small car in Italy (Napels to Florence, 12 days) in August. Tried some of the codes of ReallyNotFrequentFlyer of the 25 Feb post, and some give 50% discounts, however on more recent posts I read that these could be company specific codes that do not provide any coverage in case of an accident?

Codes No Longer Giving Good Deals?
For years, I've used G930700 (IBM) with great success for rentals in Manhattan (non-airport locations). But for my latest Manhattan rental, the rate coming up has almost quadrupled when inputting this code.
I also tried using some other codes that I have, and while not as good as the IBM code, they still provided some decent rates. But I'm getting similar results now using these well--i.e., much higher rates than what these codes use to give.
I tried other dates as well.
Wondering if anyone else is having the same experience of codes no longer giving the same low rates they used to?
Guess all good things must come to an end.

Hi - I'm looking to rent a mid size/estate vehicle from Barcelona at the beginning of August and return to Alicante at the end of August.
I've tried a few of the codes on here and I must admit I'm tempted but don't want to risk:
- Being challenged at counter
- Voiding any insurance
Are there any good public codes I could use to avoid the risk?
Thanks for your help

I've been using Autoslash recently and have found them at least as good as trying codes on my own. A few times results seemed a bit odd, but their customer service has been helpful. Certainly worth trying.
I have no connection with them other than as a user.

I am looking for a AVIS code for a one way rental from PDX to SEA 5/30-5/31. The best I can do is $85. Any code to make this better? I'm weary of using the IBM code. But, it brings it down significantly to $33.50.

In need of a van or premium SUV rental code for a 10 day rental.
Our great, great grand daughter is due in 2 weeks. We live 8 hours away and have a car load of stuff for the parents and baby (crib, home portable AC to keep everyone cool, bedding, clothing, etc) Thank you for helping us.

Need an intermediate or higher car at KOA airport 8/26-9/4 (pick up and drop off at 2pm). Best I could do was $333 with taxes - any ideas on a code/coupon combo to drop it even more? Thank You!

That's a great rate. Not sure you will find any lower, but rates could drop as the pickup date approaches. It's worth continuing to check or tracking the rental.
