Avis Australia

There have been some references on FT to a couple of excellent Avis rates:

P786700 - New South Whales Government rate
P682402 - Queensland Government rate - Australia

I haven't seen any posting about experiences with these rates for many years now.

Has anyone used them successfully (or unsuccessfully) recently? The rate is more than half off any other rate I've used.

If I do use these AWDs, any additional red flags making the reservation a US resident?

Thanks!

Whales have a government now? I always thought that the dolphins would be first! What does the New South Wales Government think of that? :p

One Way SEA to SFO - Need Help

Hi, I'm getting terrible rates for my one way from SEA 6/24 to SFO 7/1.

My AAA and AARP only give me a small dent ($648) in the rack rate of $ 714. I was hoping to get this lots closer to $500.

Any codes work for unlim. miles one way?

Thanks!

I'm referring to the high-rolling Australian gamblers, obviously.

Hello everyone, I am looking for a good code for a 3 day rental in May at MXP (Malpensa Milan) - does anyone have a good one to recommend? Also, is the Avis counter at MXP manned for Avis Preferred or is your name just displayed on the board and you drive off from your bay? (after driving license check...)

Hi - I'm running through a few options from this thread but thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone has a hot tip and might reply/PM me :)

We're going one way from Athens (Greece) to Thessaloniki either from evening of May-29 or early morning May-30 to drop off on either May-31 or June-1. The options gives us flexibility and timing benefits (so aren't looking at trains, etc) and we have flights (so won't be returning to the original location).

Happy days!

is this coupon work only with us citizen?

Hello,
as am not us resident am going to use AWD J046300 which will get me good prices
my question is can i use any of those coupons with this awd
MUWA028 (paperless) – $35 off a weekly rental
UUWA055 (paperless) – one class upgrade
because when i add it , it doesn't show any discount only shows :
This coupon [MUWA028] will be applied at the counter. Restrictions may apply. Please check T&Cs
i sent them an email they told me that they can't answer coupons questions on emails
and i can't find the T&Cs is it only for us citizen or anyone

I always use the State of Florida code, because I am actually a state of FL employee. I have never been asked for ID before, until this past weekend, where I was asked twice (at DEN, and MCO) So beware out there folks!

Can I get some advice?

I have an upcoming trip in June where I'm planning to rent in Cancun, and then Orlando. It would be my first time in Mexico so I'd like to get any idea of the rates.

A. Mexico
. seems to be about $150-200 for a full-size, for a week
. I'm from Asia and neither my travel insurance or credit card provide any sort of insurance coverage so CDW/LDW and LIS will all be on my own dime, which works out to be about $60-70/day
. so on the whole I'm paying about $80-90USD a day

B. Orlando
. I've rented once here before a few years ago, in Dec
. with CDW/LDW and LIS my rate was still ~ $50/day for 17 days
. this time it's nearer $100/day for 4 days, despite various combinations of non-ID LDWs
. is this the summer rate and because I'm renting for a shorter duration?

Thanks for any advice, I only rent once every 2-3 years so each time is like a new experience for me.

Stockholm

Is there a code I can use in Stockholm for a 2 week rental?

Can't help for Mexico. For Orlando: What size are you looking for? What are your dates? Try the Priceline AWD or Costco.

I'd like to second this request - it gives a very good discount on European locations as well

Use of codes seems to be being checked a lot more over the last six months. Manchester Piccadilly (UK) have a folder where the agent has to sign that they have seen ID/Proof of entitlement.

Dunno if already posted:

15%: L628000 in Germany (maybe other EU countries also).

Expires 26/06 - Pick Up deadline 30/6.

All times are GMT -6. The time now is 7:38 pm.
