I guess there are some different offers at the moment. I got an email the other day offering to double or triple the miles earned in January. For me that happens to be when my 60K credit card bonus miles were credited. Cost for tripling (which means buying 120K miles) ended up at around 1.4 cpm. About $1800 for 120,000-ish plus the 3x bonus miles for using their credit card.
It looks like with the newly sent out offer today, you get 35% bonus if you bought miles with their last promo. If you buy 101K with their credit card it works out to about 1.35cpm (if you include the 3x miles for Avianca spend)

A warning:
Before buying miles - and if you frequently change/cancel - note the new penalties ($150/$200) for changes/cancellations.
(Said to be the case as per posts on other sites pushing LM purchases - best to verify and then buy if required)

"Worth" is really a personal value, and nobody can tell you if it is worth it to you...crunch your numbers and options to see if you would rather travel in economy versus business versus first class, see if you would rather pay for a trip in cash, hustle with award availability and lifemiles issues, or just not take that trip at all!
FYI, it is "worth it" to me if I were planning to take my spouse with me on a transantlantic return trip in ANA/ASIANA FIRST CLASS (normal cost is $18,000 for 2, so I save $14,000 !!

buying or not depends on what you want to do with the miles and whether it makes financial and convenience sense to you. Read more on this board about the typical issues and disclaimers about booking and canceling award tickets. Then you decide. Frankly, unless you have a need to book tickets in the next month or so (to lock in aware availability you have already found or as a last minute trip), better wait till April for the next similar promotion!

So the exact "error" message stated: "Dear member, we already have your information, we will process your request and we will contact you with the result of your transaction."
Anyone else receive this message? My credit card did not reflect any activity. I'm planning to wait a few days before calling Lifemiles.
