2X, 3X: in the context of this LifeMiles thread, 2X and 3X refer to any 2nd and 3rd legs of a one-way award ticket.
LifeMiles' Star Alliance Award Chart
Cash & Miles redemptions: buying the max (60%) isn't always the best deal (unless you're purchasing all miles right there). Check here for the best CPM.
Beware of Cabotage: LifeMiles has been known to issue tickets that constitute Cabotage, and at least one instance of denied boarding has been reported, stranding the passenger. An easily-seen example is travel on Copa from LAX to SJU (via PTY).

I have a 5hr layover in SIN - it offered me that or 75 minutes, I chose to give myself some lounge time. Non-tricked route, both options the same route+airline, no "convincing" required...

So a friend was buying two chainsaws. She got the error message. I don't know if she hit the refresh button or what, but somehow two became three, as in miles, taxes etc. but not ticket.
So of course the first thought is to call, but then because it is a special route, what to do?
Any thoughts? TIA

^. About the only thing I post here anymore are mileage runs, and even those I post sparingly. After the previous occasion where something similar happened, one of the airlines in question (whether the metal of the carrier, or its partner who has announced a massive increase in the price of that particular award and likely got a number of tickets booked) must have an alert set up for anytime their name gets posted on that blog (and probably others). Any coincidence that almost no one who saw it from the blog post was able to book it, and they all thought it was phantom space? It happens THAT fast when it gets posted to blogs now. The airlines have employees they pay, and/or services they hire, to monitor these sorts of things. Someone in Chicago or Cologne certainly justified their job yesterday...

Lufthansa is flying back to Haneda after a long time from April 2014 and to celebrate the event, they opened up at least two seats in First Class ('O') from FRA to HND and back for any given day in 2014.
Unfortunately, despite hints circulated in FT and other forums demand was not high enough so they decided to end the campaign last night.
Congrats to all of you who got a seat!

With a special “(Tip of the hat to SMK77)”
Did he just read SMK77’s post here in FT and decided to make it available to all and sundry, or does ‘tip of the hat” mean something else?
