NOTE: This thread has been superseded by the thread entitled LM F and J routes (and the occasional trick-it) Rebooted v2.0. Please follow the discussion there.

Region definitions
C1 North America
C1.5 Caribbean, Bermuda
C2 Europe
C2.5 Middle East
C3 Asia
C4 South America
C5 Africa
C6 Oceania

2X, 3X: in the context of this LifeMiles thread, 2X and 3X refer to any 2nd and 3rd legs of a one-way award ticket.

LifeMiles' Star Alliance Award Chart

Cash & Miles redemptions: buying the max (60%) isn't always the best deal (unless you're purchasing all miles right there). Check here for the best CPM.

Beware of Cabotage: LifeMiles has been known to issue tickets that constitute Cabotage, and at least one instance of denied boarding has been reported, stranding the passenger. An easily-seen example is travel on Copa from LAX to SJU (via PTY).

Thanks.

I made my first call 2days ago and I was able to get all my segments done. Later, I called back for my return flights, all agents told me they can't do it b/c the system shows nothing.

Is that weird?

You mean they were able to add each flight onto your booking? This is a first.

Are you sure it wasn't just a straight forward booking that the system would have given back anyway? Like NYC-FRA-MAN? What was your routing?

It's certainly not a first.

There's one member who successfully spoon fed an agent an itinerary which wasn't offered online from Melbourne to, I think, South Africa.

Otherwise it's been stated before that calling a different office, El Salvador I think, has had similar results...although I think that option may have died.

Can anyone tell me how to tell the agent make my reservation segment by segment?
It seems no one knows, what they did just to put origin and destination and search!
The agent can only see/book what you find on the website

Correct except in 2 out of the 50000000 tickets that have probably been booked by FT so far haha

well,

SFO-TPE
then the next morning TSA-HND
Since I want to see my friends in Taipe.

The website only shows SFO-TPE-NRT.
I was so impressed as it was my first booking with LM.

Indeed, that's the question.... we can all do multi-city bookings, or two one-ways :-).
