So did Ms. Kweon stay as F purser for your flight ? Or she served in C ?

Ever mentioned to her one of the pax on her flight 6 months ago took a photo with her and post it online ?

Btw, I found the pic that I took with her when I was on the F flight back in 2005 as well. Whenever I fly OZ in the future, I will defiantely carry my photos and show it to her if she is on my flight again.
With the story you told us about what happened with her, it's hard not to remember!

She was just in F for the flight (only 1 pax in F) so I didn't see her at all during the flight. It seemed a little awkward to venture into the F galley to speak to her so I didn't have a chance to ask her whether she remembers a pax who took a million photos on the flight

I did chat to the assistant purser and she was lovely. Really warm and easy to talk to.

Ok, still confused... wondering where OZ are with their refit - I suspect I know the answer, but, thought I'd double check. Are all the 747s refitted now, or is there still 1 un-refitted left?

I've got a booking with my wife on OZ101 in F from NRT-ICN in a B747 Combi in about 3 weeks. I've already chosen our seats using the online checkin trick. We currently have seats 2J & 2K... which doesn't appear on seatguru, and from reading above, are we in the old plane I'm assuming?

Thanks for the discussions though, interesting reading!

(I'd be happy to have the old plane btw, a few days later I have the OZ721 ICN-HKG which looks pretty much like the new config as it only has 1K, and its all mine - no J there - so would be fun to try both configs!)

No and Yes.

Yes correct, seat guru is not right all the time, and they don't even update after someone send them a message.

Nothing fun to fly the old plane as comparison, it is just something from the early to mid 90s product, and very obvious the plane is not even well kept, totally falling apart.

Read some of the trip reports on this plane including mine then you will know what I mean. I don't just say things out loud without any facts.

I've flown the dinosaur twice recently. It seemed airworthy to me. I hope it would not have been in the air if it wre not airworthy.
The seats -albeit dire in their lack of comfort- were secure, and functioned.
"Totally falling apart" - to me- suggests different.

It seems like it. As Y has no PTV, and the seat is the most basic one not even with headrest, nothing can really go wrong with Y, although I didn't quite inspect thoroughly in Y.

We are talking about the ancient 74M, not T7.

C, on one occasion in an F seat (with no IFE, and with shrimp curry all over me due to turbulence and those horible grip things the FAs use to manipulate hot meals)

Every time I see them bringing a hot dish with those grips I wonder if they've ever dropped on on someone. Now I know. It really would be nice if they could figure out a better way. Some of the FAs have a horrible time using them. It makes me nervous just watching them.

power ports in Y on JFK-ICN leg?

Hi folks - apologies if this question has been answered before - I tried doing a search but it seems most of the OZ posts about JFK-ICN are dedicated to F and C class.

I'll be flying JFK-(stopover in ICN)-HKG tomorrow and had two quick questions:
1. can anyone confirm that the JFK-ICN leg is now flown by a 747, not the Combi/74E?; and
2. if it's really a 747, seatguru tells me that Y class has AC Power - is this true?

This will help me figure out if the laptop comes with me. Thank you!
