Anyone seen a schedule for QS seating beyond what they have posted on their website ?

http://us.flyasiana.com/Global/US/en...rchWrd=&page=1

Current posted schedule expires in two days.

I'd say give OZ another chance, mistakes/equipment swaps do happen and I'm sure the likelihood of it occurring is much greater on UA.

UA won't swap 747 to a 777 and vice versa internationally, as there is a different of 100+ seats and huge cargo capacity different. (the cargo capacity is especially important to Asia) If there is a mechanical, it would only delay or cancel instead of swapping to a 777. SFO-ICN for UA is a 744 currently and it is guranteed.

OZ however can change more often than UA, as no matter QS or not, it will still be a 777

Most of the flights to the US have QS ? Since when ?

ORD 95% has no QS and even no AVOD. LAX is mix on the 777, 747 for sure no QS. SEA is 330, so no QS for sure.

JFK is a high yield route, 3 class plane needed, and there are no 3 class plane no matter 747 or 777 have QS.

Maybe you should ask why OZ don't install AVOD when they got the new seats (the current one, not QS)

Even without QS, they should at least add AVOD for those 5 non-AVOD 2 class 777.

Few guarantee's in life, but OZ has been operating the 772 full lie flat to/from SFO - take a peak here:

I called and my flight in November - same routing, will still be this aircraft/config.

It is about 98%-99% of the time. Just check last month in October, there was one day don't have QS equipped 777, and of course no AVOD as well.

Someone mentioned in another thread, despite called and asked multiple times and confirmed, still when the person got on board the plane it wasn't the case. So it is all about luck.

Recent inquiries have been merged into this de facto master thread on the lie flat Business Quadra Smartium seating / routing. JDiver, Senior Moderator

Never say never; I've had an ORD-FRA get swapped when a bunch of 744's went tech. This spring, IIRC, there was also some issues with 744's and an ORD-FRA took a 772 from ORD-MUC and that flight went down to a 763, and UA put lots of pax on LH metal from ORD.

Luck exactly. I think the only airlines with predictably consistent equipment on routes to my knowledge are VS, JJ, and LA.

Even on 3 class routes there are stories of a downgrade to a 2 class plane with OZ.

At least on OZ there's more consistency, as opposed to KE, who appears to frequently change the metal on several routes.

I had never seen that for UA's Asia routes, just like ORD-HKG and SFO-HKG, never once in its operation use a 777. (It is totally capable, as when UA tried to start 2nd ORD-HKG or 2nd SFO-HKG a 777 was used)

I am holding a reservation on J OZ214 (ICN-SFO) Dec 1st. The seat map for this flight cannot be opened on OZ website, while other OZ flights in the same itinerary allow seat selection. I called OZ and they couldn't open the seat map either. Before building this itinerary, I booked OZ214 in J on Nov 30 and was able to select seats online.

Does this seem like OZ will switch aircraft so OZ214 will not have QS on Dec 1?

I flew this route on Oct. 24 and it was the QS configuration. It was only half full so my husband and I were able to move to center row 5 and have the 2 seats close together, like a double bed, instead of center row 4 with the tables in the middle. The only thing odd about the meal service was there was no predinner cocktail offered. They took dinner orders right away, asked which wine I'd like with dinner, then started bringing the appetizer. On all flights in business class on many airlines, there is usually a "happy hour" before the meal service stars. You can have a cocktail or wine served with warm mixed nuts before the meal. There did not appear to be any hard liquor on board. Maybe this is a Korean custom.

They usually only have a basic range, including Jack Daniels, Baileys, Vodka and Makgeolli.
They list 'cocktails' in the menu, but that really is only things that can be made from combining Jack Daniels with various fruit juices.

Not much good if you don't like bourbon 'whiskey' (or should that be, whisky...)?

I guess the chances of us getting the new seats on Nov 20 from ORD to ICN & ICN to SYD are close to 0%?

The seats have been seen once in a blue moon to SYD but I don't think to ORD. In any case, chances are slim. It is far more likely that you will have the old C with PTV and not even AVOD.

Was flying OZ111 KIX-ICN on Nov 5 and to my surprise (didn't check aircraft beforehand as I rarely fly OZ) it was the QS seat for this 2hrs hop. Nice seat for sure, a bit "huging" maybe if you are claustrophobic.

The only gripe I have are these absolutely ridiculously cheap headphones they provide. What a joke for an offering like that and I got the same stuff on the 7hrs ICN-SIN flight on the A330.
