Italy is a good bet... I agree on that. The low odds on Argentina are Messi related me thinks....

Just checked my bet placed some 3/4 months ago and I was given 10.5 odds on Argentina.... which is not bad me thinks.

Not bad....although realistically I would put their odds at 16/1. I agree that Messi has shortened their odds considerably....plus the fact that many people put money on them through habit. Brazil are miles ahead of them at the moment yet the odds don't reflect it.

I would have though a African team would be in with a shout but they seem to have gone off the boil in recent years.
Heat has usually been a problem for European teams when the competition hasn't been in Europe. With it being winter in South Africa heat won't be a problem so I can see the Europe national sides doing well.

To so easily dismiss Brazil's chances of winning the World Cup is surely folly?

Anyone who has already put a wager on the Germans is bound to be upset now with Michael Ballack being ruled out of the World Cup with torn ligaments in his ankle. I think this pretty much ruins any chance the Germans may have had.
