Hello, I'm going to be in BA in March. I have been reading through this thread, and it's been so helpful.

I have what I had thought was a pretty easy question - about electrical adapters. I searched through the forums and read the related posts in this thread and over in Travel Technology, and looked at the world electrical guide/Magellen's/etc. The problem is every site has different information! Some say E or C or I, etc.

I don't need to worry about voltage, but I will have both grounded and non-grounded items. Can someone explicitly point me to the adapter(s) I need to get?

I honestly have no idea. Never been to BA, nor the Teatro. I'm still at the point where I've now got to figure out how to get tickets between the point I arrive in BA Wednesday evening and the time the show starts.

I think I read you have to go to the box office in person to get single tickets as they are not sold online, nor more than a day or so before the performance. Gaucho, is this right?

Can you contact your hotel front desk ahead of time and see if they can obtain the tickets? Or contact someone at the "wowargentina" tourist bureau website whom many posters here have found very helpful? They are pretty good with email replies.

Teatro Colon is in the downtown "centro" part of BsAs and a prominent site most want to see in its own right so you should be able to get near it easily your first day. Cabs seem to be the way to go if your hotel is not close by.

I hope you keep posting once you get there to tell us about the Colon ticket situation ... and what the weather is like. I leave next Tuesday myself.

Hotels: Faena Hotel and Universe(Puerto); Art Hotel (Recoleta); Bo Bo Hotel and Restaurant (Palermo)

Restaurants: Sucre (Belgrano); Bar Uriate (Palermo); Dominga (Palermo); Casa Cruz (Palermo) - "the city's hottest spot".

Gaucho and others do not any longer recommend Sucre, so what to they know? Trip Advisor also provides some declining reviews on the other choices.

Best advice might be to **avoid** places recommended in the popular media?

Other points (in no particular order).
Huge steak dinner cost around $7. Trak chicken is great. The food in general is wonderful as it is generally prepared fresh. WiFi is pretty easy to find (Havanna cafe on Sante Fe and Billinghurst has it for free as well as the Puerto Madero area - otherwise internet cafes are all over the place). If you're going to be there for longer than a few days I suggest you rent an apartment www.bytargentina.com. Don't forget an unlocked GSM cell phone so you can get a Personal SIM to plug in as roaming is $$$.
