Also, the Buquebus ferries to Colonia seem to depart only at 12:45 and 1900 with nothing in between. Would it be possible to catch the 1245 ferry if flight arrives at EZE at 1050?

Taxi (Remis service) is the easiest. The Manuel Tienda Leon Bus terminates its service nearby, too. You would not get a 1245 ferry, as there are check in and migration formalities, similar to an airport.

For those wanting a full service premium Car Service, remember fellow FTer Fred at Silver Star runs the best Buenos Aires Car Service company.

I would not count on getting from EZE to the ferry terminal in less than two hours. Very unlikely! There is quite a distance from the airport to the bus terminal.

I think it would be a rare day where you couldn't get to the Buquebus terminal in an hour and a half or much less (from the time you depart EZE). But you need to plan a good hour from airplane disembarkation until being in a taxi. However, it isn't just like running to a local boat. There are check in and immigration formalities, and if you aren't there an hour before the boat, you might not make it.

So, you would never make the early boat.

Current Fares from EZE to Downtown Hotels

Much of the information I have been able to find on line is several years old, and I would like some up-to-date info.

I guess a remise is the best way to get from EZE to downtown (correct me if I am wrong), but how much should I expect to pay? The discussion boards quote prices all over the place, from US$40 and up. I have even seen $120. If that is US dollars, that seems high to me, but how would I know, as this will be my first time there?

If anyone can give me some sort of idea of what is reasonable, I would appreciate it.

I understand that there are booths operated by the various remise services in the central hall at EZE.

Second question: is there an ATM at the airport before customs?

US$40 and under, it just varies depending on when they raise their rates (frequently) and the exchange rate at the time.

No. There are two after you leave the secured area. The remise booths take credit cards, and any of the people who will escort you to your car (after you pay) will wait for you while you take cash out at either of the machines.

Will be there next month, can't wait!

EZE is like any other international airport... you have multiple car service options at various price levels. Without getting into the exchange rate issues, US$40 will get you a standard car service into town, if you want a Premium service then expect to pay about US$140 and up to US$350 (if you book a Hotel Premium Car Service).

Another fx question

Hi all,

First thanks for all the great information posted here.

I am traveling to Argenitna for about 10 days (on what feels like a jam packed itinerary). I am debating the various methods for exchanging currency. Since my time is limited is it worth dealing with money changers and/or Xoom? Would it be better to just bring some cash, and a credit card and exchange as necessary at hotels or banks (if necessary pull money from th ATM)? I am trying sort out how to best manage the risk, effort, time, stress, exchange rate trade off.

Thanks for your help.

I'm going to be travelling through EZE later in the year, landing at 0915 and then catching my next flight at 1320 from AEP. I'm hoping the four hours is enough to clear customs, immigration, collect luggage and get a taxi across town but if not then knowing now would help so i can start to sort other options!

I also have a mobility problem and use walking sticks. How long can i expect to be in queues? I can only stand without tipping over for about 10 minutes, so is there either a disabled queue, or staff around who can help me get through more quickly? If i do just book special assistance and a wheelchair through the airline, is this likely to be pretty speedy or am i going to end up wheeled somewhere and left to the point where it actually makes me miss the connection? Any thoughts or suggestions much appreciated!

I suggest you book special assistance with the airlines, they are very good at wheeling you over to the Diplomatic & Crew lines so you should be fine. As for your connection times, unless your incoming is late you should be OK.

As for a Taxi, I do not recommend you use the regular EZE Taxi, instead, get a car from Manuel Tienda Leon... or if you can splurge, go with Silver Star Car, they are the best premium car service in town, run by a NYorker that lives here.

Have a great Trip.

Cheers,
Alex

If you're on an AR flight then they have flight numbers used as a bus.

evie01 Feb 26, 2013 5:30 am

Slightly new complication with things now (aargh!). My AA flight time has been changed from a 1320 departure to an 1100 one. What are the chances that in the next nine months things are going to alter again with flight times? Obviously an 0915 landing at EZE is incompatible with an 1100 take off from AEP...

I don't want to make irrevocable decisions now on changing bits if AA are just going to turn around and switch things, even if they stuck to the time and changed the airport I'd be more than fine with that, but if from experience once times are changed the new ones stick, I guess I'm going to have to rearrange other legs.

I booked everything through an agent and on one ticket, so because of the change will the airlines have to bear the cost of correcting it to times that can be made or am I going to end up stuck paying more?
