Going Back to EZE the other day I noticed the HI. I remember seeing it for 5K points ( a good deal ) Saw the Tarp and the Location and now I now why its 5K Points. Am I judging a book by its cover. From the Autopista the area did not look so inviting to me.. Any thoughts? Thanks and Safe Travels

I thought the place was decent for a Holiday Inn. The furnishings were Ikea-esque, and the room had a huge bathroom. The breakfast was fair, but at 50 pesos, I thought a little overpriced for some medialunas and scrambled eggs. The staff was fairly freindly to me, but looked a bit confused when they saw me come in off the road.

The neighborhood doesn't have anything redeeming nearby, other than looking at the countryside. Ciudad Evita looked to be a little sketchy, when walking around in the morning, but not terribly unsafe.

For dining options you have the attached restaurant, the gas station, and a parilla run out in the yard of a house next to the Autopista offramp.

It sounded like they are still working on it, when I was leaving I heard roto-hammering and saw workers on the inside of the tarped area.

We were thinking of staying there before we fly out to MAD on the midday flight as it'll save us having to get up at the crack of dawn that morning for the 2 hour road journey. Shame it's so far from the bloody airport though. :td:

There's what appears to be a quite nice hotel in Ezeiza pueblo called La Posada del Aguila or something to that effect. It's right next to the plaza with the big flag. That might be a better option - it also looks like there are some nicer dining options there than in Ciudad Evita, from what I've seen taking the bus through town. Plus it's much closer to EZE - barely five minutes by public bus, so less than that if you get a cab/shuttle.

Hiddy.... no matter where you decide to stay, if you do stay at either of the near EZE locations, please do post a short report.

Having said this.... I dont understand why you dont come to town the day before and spend the day here, then get a proper room at a proper hotel (in town), and then get a car out to EZE..... :p

Yes I'm rather undecided at the mo.
The arrival time of the earlier MAD flight allows us to connect for the onward journey to Scotland but means an early start here or staying overnight in BUE. The late evening MAD departure means we can get things tidied up here in a relaxed way before setting off for EZE but probably means an overnight in MAD before continuing on the next day.

I shall consult the boss.....:rolleyes:

I'm in NYC. Link doesn't open for me either - neither with IE nor with Firefox.

I consulted the boss and she's adamant that we take the lunchtime flight so we arrive in Scotland the next day. She prefers to get up early and travel straight to EZE that morning which will make it a long journey tiring journey.....thank God we'll be in Biz Class.

So I went online to the Iberia site booked the flights only to find my Banco Provincia credit card payment has been rejected. :rolleyes:

Between me booking and realising this fact the Avios redemption sale started offering 25% off award bookings. As Iberia offered me 48 hours to pay or lose my tickets I decided to cancel them and then rebook under the offer saving me 30,000 miles. ^
