The smoke came back last night and currently this morning the visibility is down to 150 m at AEP! All flights are cancelled until the situation improves.
The smoke cloud invaded Uruguay yesterday, with much of Montevideo being affected.
This is definitely a health hazard, no matter what they say! Try to stay hydrated. I'm running my ultrasonic humidifier to try and keep my mucous membranes moist. Yuk!

If you like the P. Stark design and decor and dont mind what for some is the new riche lifestyle... then the Faena is a great place to stay.
Style issues aside, there is no argument that the establishment is upscale and has all a place of its caliber needs to offer... however, service in some departments is known to be somewhat volatile. IMO, in this same price category there are better places to stay in Buenos Aires. If you dont mind old-school style hotels, then go to the Alvear Palace.

Thank you for the reply. I have stayed at the Alvear and enjoyed it. I would like to try something new. What would be your all around first choice? Thank you again!

The Faena is a bit out of the way over in the Puerto Madero area, and if the Alvear was your speed, I suspect you'd probably prefer the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhao to the Faena. It's barely a block away from the Alvear, and I've been impressed with it overall.

Wirelessly posted (Palm TX: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D050; Blazer/4.3) 16;320x448)
I would also consider the Four Seasons.

Alex, article in the New York Times today
"Top Official on Economy Steps Down in Argentina"
Martín Lousteau, Argentina’s embattled economy minister, resigned late Thursday after less than five months in the job, amid rising inflation and a protracted conflict with farmers over government tax policy........
Here is the link to the article http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/26/wo...l?ref=americas
In my opinion this does not bode well for the government taking a strong stand against inflation..is Argentina heading towards yet another economic crisis?
