Select Packet Arrived
Didn't see this mentioned, so here goes:
The PRO - One additional Class Upgrade (3 vs. 2) - all still one hour.
The CON - No 2500 point magazine subscription.
Otherwise, the stylings of the card and materials look virtually identical to last years.

Argh! For the second year in a row, my Select packet has not arrived on time.
Last year it was due to the fact that I qualified via the "Points Count Toward Select" promo, but this year I actually earned it the old fashioned way. Once again, I've been calling AGR to figure out what happened. Looks like I'll have to keep on calling until they figure out what happened. Hopefully with the new company it won't be too long.
Either way, I definitely have bad AGR karma...

As far as I know, the Select kits have always had a combination of Acela Lounge passes/10% off coupons AND 1 Hour Upgrade coupons.
The Select + packets have always had a couple companion tickets AND some 48 hour upgrade coupons.
However, it may have been different before AGR offered S+ and only had one level of loyalty. It was around 3-4 years ago that S+ was added.

Still no Select kit. I've called AGR multiple times and each time I am assured that someone will at least get back to me as to why they didn't send one out. No response. One of the reps said he was "puzzled" why my record didn't show a mailing. He seemed helpful on the phone but did not follow through.
I've also emailed Amtrak Customer Service and have gotten no response.
Looks like this is a serious lack of organization on the part of the AGR servicer. I have to go higher up the chain... Any suggestions on how to get this taken care of?

On the last call, however, the rep had a temporary .pdf S+ card valid through 18 May e-mailed to me. It worked for access to the combined CO/NW lounge at ORD just now.

So my advice is to call, persistently ask to speak with a supervisor until you get one, and make sure there's a firm date when fulfillment will start. Call back to verify it actually started on that date, then wait 2-4 weeks.
Interestingly, there's no mention of the CO Presidents Club benefit in the S+ packet, even though it still exists and is specified on the AGR site. Does anyone know if previous years' packets said anything about it?
